A friend and I tried the new chef’s table experience, and it was spectacular. A front seat view to the bustling kitchen, and personalized attention from the executive chef herself. Plus chef Samuelsson also made an appearance, though I imagine that’s not the typical experience. But the treating menu was varied, creative, and delicious — everything one would expect from Hav & Mar, which is overdue for a Michelin star.

This is THE fav in my top 10. Celebrated my birthday here this year and it was a vibe. Though a snow storm was approaching the atmosphere led you down another path and made you forget about all that was going on outside those doors. Tried the ribeye this time around. Succulent and well seasoned.. the perfect temp that I requested. We got the bread basket this time and I vacuumed every crumb. The plantain chutney was the best condiment I’ve had in a while and I’d love to explore more combinations with it.
Apple of my Thyme was the perfect end to the meal and the pavlova was bursting with citrus. I need to rotate here every month just to get a feel of the overall menu.

Had an amazing dinner at Hav + Mar! The food was so good , literally everything we ordered was delicious except the crêpes, which were honestly the only miss of the night. The service was excellent from start to finish, super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance is really cute too: warm lighting, great music, and a vibe that works perfectly for a date night or a dinner out with friends. Overall, definitely recommend and would happily go back!

You tastebuds will praise you. Everything was very well balanced and VERY GOOD. Now, if you’re looking for knock you off your feet flavor, then this place isn’t it. And I mean flavors that are very spicy or very sour/sweet. The food was just so soothingly good.

Dropped in on a whim after looking for a place to eat that was close to the Arte Museum. Swedish-Ethiopian food sounded unique and intriguing enough and they absolutely delivered. The plating of each meal was beautiful and only topped by the sharp service and exquisite tastes! We were also amused by the witty cocktail menu — the Almost Rich, Almost Famous was the right mezcal pairing!
Everything we had was absolutely delicious but make sure you get the cornbread.

There are few times in my life I have built up such anticipation for a restaurant and then have it exceed my expectations, Chef Fariyal and her team crushed it. I ate so much only because everything was so god damn delicious. There were no single note dishes, complexity and balance dominated each plate. Everything was phenomenal, heat on the pasta was perfect, couldn’t put the fork down. The multitude of flavors on the Cod was killer. Swediopian sauce at the bottom had great depth of flavor. I would do unspeakable things to acquire the dredge recipe for this chicken. The mushrooms had me questioning what I’m doing with my life, my god. Your team did a wonderful job, keep it up lady, you’re crushing it. Thank you for the fantastic experience! This is a sure bet if you’re visiting town, or entertaining friends & family.

What a delightful experience! 10/10. The food was delicious (as a vegetarian I had plenty of options) and the service was unbeatable. I’ve lived in New York over a decade and this is now one of my favorite spots for all around good food, good service, and great atmosphere. I commented to my friend that this has to be one of the warmest, most welcoming restaurants I’ve been to in the city. Pair that with innovative and excellent food and I have found myself a winner. Thanks to the chefs, Darius our server, and everyone else who made our dinner fantastic!

I’ve been wanting to hit up this spot for awhile and was trying to not set unrealistic expectations when I got to try it… and I’m sorry to say I was disappointed. I think it started with the fact that there wasn’t a hostess or anyone to greet us when we arrived. We approached the bar to be told someone would be with us. And then we were seated at the bar, even though we were a party of 2 and it wasn’t crowded. Maybe because it was later in the evening? Because of the shape of the bar, it actually makes it difficult for the bartender/ server to see you when your on one side, so it took a bit to even get drinks…I enjoyed the peach habenero aquavit (like a flavored gin) It was sweet and spicy.
I was expecting food bursting with unfamiliar spices and textures, but it seemed just lack luster and mundane. We ordered the bread basket, tartar, uni paté, and the branzino with a side of zucchini blossoms.
The cornbread was supposed to be a can’t miss, but it was very dry and not noteworthy. The biscuit was the star of the basket. The uni path felt like it was missing something, either a crunch or some type of salty flavor. The bread is served on is similar to a soft sponge cake. I really liked the flavor of the branzino, but was put off by the presentation… a slight resemblance to the contents of a baby diaper. The accompanying pancakes and fermented sides were good, minus the green beans, they desperately needed seasoning/salt.
When the meal came- because of sitting at the bar we kept hanging to spread our plates further and further out, I’m not sure what would have happened if it was crowded. One of the servers literally brought the tartar over and just set it down without an “excuse me” or taking the other plates out of the way. It felt like she was doing a chore rather than service.
Am I sad it was a let down? Yes. The photos, reviews and pictures of the restaurant really gave me high hopes. It goes to show that every person can have a different experience at the same place..maybe ill give it another try if they have a menu change or noteworthy event. But, sorry Hav & Mar I’m gonna have to swipe left on you now.

Had such a lovely dinner at Hav & Mar. The grilled ribeye and lobster were perfectly seasoned and just delicious. We also got the Black Mermaid Tower, and while everything is fresh the fluke ceviche stood out, it was insanely good.
The ambiance is gorgeous, and our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely great at what he does.
