We met friends for happy hour at the 2nd Story Bar and absolutely LOVED it. I had a fantastic Gimlet. The bartender was so BUSY and yet still so kind, lovely and friendly. The happy hour burger, fries and beer is a great value and good portion. Lots of locals sighted so you know this is a good place to be. Loved it! We arrived right at 3pm so the photos look like it is vacant but it soon filled up. Great place for a group of friends to meet up, sidle up to the bar as a single or cozy for a couple—we literally saw all three while we were there.

Kami and her husband, who is also the chef, have opened up a very thoughtful restaurant! I am so glad we discovered it on our first night in town as our subsequent dinners left us wanting so we could return here to end our night on a good note. We loved sitting in the table tops that faced outward so we could people watch on the street.
They are also the owners of Good Bagel down the street which we also highly recommend.
Cannot recommend this place enough!

We were visiting from out of town and were starving after a whale tour. We were looking for some really good oysters in Anacortes and to our surprise found Tide & Taste with a $2 oyster happy hour! We did a larger sampling of the menu after getting a half dozen raw oysters and halve dozen grilled. The oysters – in general – were MASSIVE and delicious! I only eat cooked oysters – and the grilled ones were phenomenal with so much flavor in the tomato chili oil sauce. YUM. We also got corn ribs, crab cakes and the red curry salmon. Honestly – the red curry sauce was absolutely amazing and it was the first time I’d ever had it over salmon. The corn ribs had a light breading over them which we loved and the crab cakes were plump and well sized. Our server, Margarita, was an angel with so many delicious recommendations and a super sweet and positive attitude. Should we ever venture back to anacortes we hope to revisit Tide & Taste again!

Phenomenal experience. Wonderful service, and the food so delicious, the oysters so fresh so good. And the drinks strong and well made. The fish was fried to perfection and they have the best freshest fries. I highly recommend this restaurant and will always go back when will be visiting Anacortes

5/29/2025: Wow. Really great spot. The two of us ordered the bread (focaccia) and butter, grilled oysters, Grilled octopus, and the smash burger. Everything delicious.
Grilled oysters were nicely grilled topped with leek and herbed oil dressing. So delightful. Octopus was just slightly chewy but still very good. Smash burger came with two small patties so it didn’t feel too overwhelming. Very good.
Service was attentive and friendly. Have to try the whole menu!

The food was AMAZING – one of the better meals we have had, one of the best meals in the PNW. Very quiet on a Saturday night – but why? The place was terrific. Tenderloin with crab – holy crap! Coho with a kimchi puree – so good. Chockolate cake w whipped creme fraiche – just the right amount of sweet and salty! Short but high quality wine list. Every course was tasty, creative and I would order again. Go!

Anacortes is blessed with some really great restaurants so as small biz fans we visit a new one with our fingers crossed that they are braced for tough competition. Tide & Taste is more than able to handle a Top Chef battle. Friendly Margarita’s service made our afternoon’s fun go fantastically well. The raw oysters were fresh sea fragrant and beautifully presented. My beet salad was by far my favorite prep and this is a salad I order elsewhere frequently. The brioche bread topped cheeseburger came with a large chopped salad and their fish sandwich was also a five star treat. Lunch was so delicious we’ll come back for dinner soon. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Anacortes has lacked a high level restaurant that expands beyond its excessive number of subpar pizza and burger joints. Well, this is no longer the case. FINALLY, a restaurant that understands the need to cater to vegetarians and omnivores alike (A’town used to do this, but not anymore). And finally, a restaurant that could readily compete in Seattle. We used to drive to Coupeville, Langley, or even Seattle to find decent higher-level vegetarian/omnivore food. It is so exciting that I finally can drive five minutes down the road to get a fantastic meal.
My husband loved the raw oysters, grown right here on Fidalgo Island by the Swinomish Shellfish Company. The cocktail menu was fantastic and our entrées were amazing. The staff are incredibly nice and, although I haven’t gone there enough to confirm this, it sounds like they change their menu enough to encourage locals to keep coming back.
Bravo to the owners!

Great first experience at Tide & Taste. The drinks were excellent, I had the Cloak & Walnut and it was outstanding. Everyone in our group really enjoyed their food, and the presentation across the board was impressive. Service was attentive, and the overall experience was fantastic. We’ll definitely be back!
