Please be advised that this restaurant changed name to ‘Ladda Thai’ which serves meat and fish options. But they have retained the menu of Dee Dee vegan and also make vegan food upon request but this was a disappointment for us because we expected a purely vegan restaurant. Food was decent. Vegan yellow curry is a must try! Other items that were good are drunken noodle, spicy fried rice. But these 2 needed more salt though.

Always fantastic and super fresh. We love the flavors and are super happy every time we return. The service is so kind too, everyone is so sweet. The drunken noodles are easily my fave, and the peanut curry is out of this world as well!

As I ease in, the gentle sway of the background lounge music guides me into a relaxing smile. Met by warm friendly staff with kindness in their eyes and joy in their smile. It was early, the restaurant was not too busy yet. I found a table for myself next to the large windows, the day was perfect as the sun had just peaked out. I had the spicy string beans and veggie rolls, the presentation was art. The taste was exquisite. I’ll dream about this tonight…

This place is so bomb! Top of my list for favorite vegan Thai spots in Portland. And fyi – the tom kha is THE BEST one you’ll find in Portland. Hands down.

My husband and I wanted a late night eat. We were not expecting much, they absolutely blew me away with how much flavor and how perfectly the tofu was fried and the noodles this has to be one of the best drunken noodles I’ve ever had. I can’t speak anymore highly of this place. My husband picked it up and he was raving on how sweet and nice everyone was.

the textures are spot on, but they go far too light on the heat and seasoning. I’ve never had noodles so mild! not sure how to make marinated curry tofu that’s bland, but they’ve mastered it here. order extra sauces. if you have your own chili crisp or sambal at home, you’ll need it.
Edit to reply to owner: I ordered medium the first time, then hot the second.

I didn’t even notice this was a vegan restaurant, but they were well prepared to add chicken to my meal. The pumpkin tempura, pineapple fried rice and mango sticky rice were all incredibly flavorful, fresh and texture approved. This is my new autistic obsession and i will be back soon.

Discovering this place that offers a large variety of vegan/vegetarian friendly Thai food that also happens to be delicious is life changing. I definitely recommend.

Review: Dee Dee Vegan Thai – A Love Crime Worth Committing
Recently, I made the switch to a temporary vegan diet strictly to lose weight, and let me tell you—finding a satisfying plant-based meal hasn’t been easy. But Dee Dee Vegan Thai? This place changed the game.
I ordered the curry (XXXTRA hot) with fried tofu, rice, and rice pudding, and it was everything. The curry had a rich coconut undertone, smooth yet fiery, the kind of heat that lingers just right. The fried tofu had a perfect crisp, absorbing the sauce like it was made for it. Pouring it all over the rice? Divine.
Then came the rice pudding—simple, classic, nostalgic. It tasted like pure comfort, the kind that takes you back to childhood innocence.
This restaurant isn’t just serving food—it’s committing a love crime, one plate at a time. Highly recommend.
