Food here is honestly a bit of a hit or miss. Some days it really lands, other times it’s just okay — nothing terrible, but nothing I’d go out of my way for either. If you come in without expecting some mind-blowing culinary experience, it works perfectly fine and does the job.

What I do appreciate is the atmosphere. It’s actually a solid spot to get some work done — comfortable seating, easy to settle in, and a good environment to focus for a couple of hours. For me, it’s more of a reliable workspace with decent food on the side rather than a true food destination.

Airport restaurants will always have overall low reviews due to higher prices vs the outside world and inflated expectations. It’s the airport remember. Its owned and operated by the government. Lower your expectations. With that being said, I enjoyed what I had. Cant speak for whole menu or consistency of quality or service but the chicken sandwich with shoestring fries were damn good.

Kansas City really needs to bring in a national chain, to somehow raise the bar on all of the horrible local offerings in this beautiful new airport. This was junior high cafeteria food at best for $20 burgers and $10 cans of domestic.
The space was nice enough, but I had a horrible music arrangement with a single cheap speaker blasting music directly at the bar.
The service was OK, but for the number of patrons to staff, somehow you constantly felt like you were trying to get someone’s attention.

Hands-down the best airport dining experience I’ve ever had! Traveling through MCI can be stressful, but stopping at Brown & Loe turned it around. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out fast—perfect for a tight connection. But what really made it exceptional was our server Matt. He was friendly without being over-the-top, knew the menu inside out, kept our drinks refilled without us asking, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests instead of just another boarding pass. Matt is a total pro and deserves a raise! If you have time for a sit-down meal at Kansas City airport, skip the usual chains and come here. Five stars all day—thank you Matt and the whole Brown & Loe team!”

If you’re a fan of charcoal-level eggs and mysterious floaters playing Marco Polo in your water, congratulations—you’ve found your spot. Besides those minor shortcomings, it was brilliant!

I had low expectations going in, but this was fantastic. I’d have been very pleased with this in a normal restaurant, but to enjoy it in an airport was really top shelf. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere much quieter than the other restaurants at 4:30 on a Friday. Huge portions, well-spiced, and fresh – the green beans were cooked perfectly with some bite, and at least half bacon (the good stuff). Gravy was creamy and meatloaf tender and a huge slice. Maybe for the price, I’d expect a roll, but otherwise no complaints. Thanks for the homey meal while traveling.

It looks like a nice place for an airport. Comfortable, big windows, an okay menu.

It cost my wife and I over $60 for lunch, and the food was deeply medium. She had a breakfast dish which features cooked long ago bacon and lukewarm bacon.

I had Betty’s Club, a sliced beef and sliced ham sandwich on Texas toast. It sounded good, the reality was not so good. It had barely-warm bread with a slice of cheese melted on it some time ago. The beef and ham were still refrigerated, just as if I bought it from the lunch meat fixture at the grocery store. I’m sure it came out of a pre-measured bag in the kitchen.

Unappetizing and expensive.

Eat before you come to the airport.

Visited Brown & Loe last night and had quite the experience! The BLT was so spicy it felt like I was being personally roasted by the chef. The sauce was overpowering, kind of like a first date who won’t stop talking about their ex. On the bright side, the beer was ice cold – the perfect antidote to my mouth being on fire.

Service was a bit slow, but it gave me plenty of time to contemplate life and stare longingly at all the empty tables that were mysteriously closed off. Maybe they were reserved for the ghost of speedy service past? Despite all that, the vibe was great, and I’d definitely come back for more culinary adventures!

The chubby brunette bartender was extremely rude. She scoffs at customers, rolls her eyes, storms off, and deliberately doesn’t get your order right. The older gentleman with silver hair is the reason why I didn’t rate this establishment 1/5. Keep him working there and fire the crazy brunette that has awful attitude and customer service. She’s very bitter.
