I’ve been meaning to try this place for so long, my husband loves duck and bao buns, so I knew this place would be right up his alley but man, did they blow my expectations out of the water!
From the moment we walked in they were kind and friendly, just the right amount of interaction where we felt taken care of, but also relaxed and able to enjoy our night out together. We tried lots of things because we couldn’t decide. We had the fried chicken buns, pineapple rice with fried chicken, chili pad Thai with shrimp, and of course the duck curry. I also got a Thai tea which went perfectly with all the spices, highly recommend if you are getting anything spicy! The sweetness of the tea was just made to go with spice.

We loved everything, but the standouts for us were by far the pad Thai and the duck curry. Which was amazing, since we thought the bao buns were incredible and then those dishes topped it! The pineapple rice was wonderful to have as a pallet cleanser since the curry had a lovely slow burn heat that built up wonderfully. I’ve never had cooked lychee before but I lived them in the curry. My husband also loved it and said it was the best duck dish he’s had, and he tries it everywhere he can get it! The pad Thai was delicious and so saucy, just enough peanuts and bean sprouts to bring the whole thing together.

Altogether, 10/10, can’t wait to go back and try more things! The parking is probably the only downside, but I will happily spot hunt for hours if I need to for food that good! It wasn’t too much of an issue for us late on a weekday, but something to be aware of if you’re visiting on a weekend or something. Absolutely don’t let that stop you though if you like good food cooked from scratch to order with big flavors, so beyond worth it!

Consistently Outstanding Thai Food

Exceptional Thai food with great spices and flavor. Has the basics every Thai establishment should have, along with some very unique menu items and weekly specials. The crying tiger beef is a delicious spicy appetizer I have not found anywhere else. The restaurant has a great lively atmosphere, and I love that you can glimpse into the kitchen and see them preparing the food. Dine in and takeout is always consistently peak quality, and the service is fast and efficient.

This time we Ordered the Basil Fried Rice w/ Crispy chicken and Crispy Chicken Noodle. Both amazing dishes with complex flavors. The crispy chicken is the best!

Great for small parties. Bar seating available.
Food was good. Pretty good varies and option. Got the papaya salad. Ain’t too bad but got better. Quite refreshing so still good to order for one that like this dish.
I got the seafood tom yum for main entree. Great seasoning and heat level. Perfect for the cold weather. Approved.

Shout out to our server Alex! He was very knowledgeable of the menu and provided excellent service. We had Kao Soi and KraPow which was very tasty and portions were big. We look forward to coming back soon to try the other dishes.

Hi! I am here because I want to acknowledge Alex and his staff. I have been coming here since before Alex started at Thai Food and since he took the reins me and my families experience has enhanced ! The food is incredible, the service is unmatched. Alex and the front of house makes you feel at home. I do also want to say that I am appalled to read a review below. My family and I were in the night of the miscommunication that is written below by “Chris”. My parents and I were in the booth next to the table of the complainant. What was written was far from true. Alex the manager simply went over and asked the individual how the food, service and drink was. The customer explained that all was excellent. Come to find out the customer had left less than a 10 % tip. Alex just explained that the workers work very hard to give him the experience that they deserve and hope to be shown the respect in return. As a family who dines in a lot and is culturally aware, 15% is the old standard and now is 18%. IF you receive great service and food you should plan to tip a minimum of 20%. As there conversation continued, Alex remained calm and professional stating ” It is not only my job to give customers a great experience here but, my duty is to all protect his workers for great service.” The people who were left in the booth were then apologized to by Alex and they strongly replied that they they were on Alex’s side and that their friend was actually in the wrong. LOL. “If anyone knows Alex like me and my family do, he has been on a journey of sobriety for quite sometime. I would hope this customer would not come back either. Anyway! We Love THAI FOOD CONNECTION and will continue to eat there.

This place is fantastic, we go often. Their food is delicious! They offer a bunch of plant-based/vegan options, clearly marked on the menu. I usually order the yellow curry with tofu, but I enjoy a bunch of other dishes including the Cashew stir-fry, Pad See Ew, Triple veggie delight, and more. They make great drinks as well.
The staff is always very friendly, and the space is really nice. This is definitely the restaurant I go to in Manchester the most often.

The Thai Connection, is without a doubt one of the very best places in the greater Manchester area. It is probably the restaurant I’ve been to the most over the past several years because it’s the most dependable and never lets me down with the flavors and textures that I’ve come to love and appreciate more with every dish I try. At this point I’ve tried at least half the dishes on the menu and I’m not done because I intend to try them all. If it wasn’t for their amazing daily lunch and dinner specials, I would have already tried the entire base menu, but the specials are always so creative and yummy sounding I can’t help myself. This menu is the real deal; authentic Thai recipes and flavors that have evolved and improved with age to fuse the Thai and American pallet together in a way you have to try to appreciate. I can’t think of a restaurant on Elm that I love and appreciate more and I think I take it for granted. Just yesterday I went in in a hurry due to a business meeting and had the Crunchy Chicken Sticky Buns, and between the texture and flavor of the chicken, the gentle bite of the pickled cucumber and fresh cabbage and Thai basil, combined with a spicy yum yum sauce, I was in food ecstasy for about 15 minutes that carried me through the day with a smile. If you haven’t tried them yet, I can’t encourage you enough to try them again. My wife, who is not one for exotic foods or trying new things, has fallen in love with their Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice, and the Thai Inspired Fried Calamari is a close second.

I recently visited this place and, to be honest, I didn’t get the chance to try too many items on the menu during my visit. That being said, I did sample a few dishes and came away with some mixed impressions. The green curry, for example, was one of the dishes I was most excited about, since it’s one of my favorites to order at different restaurants. Unfortunately, I found it to be a bit underwhelming compared to others I’ve had in the past. The flavors were there, but it lacked the depth and richness I usually expect from a really good green curry. I’ve definitely had better versions elsewhere, so I wouldn’t necessarily come back for that particular dish.

On a brighter note, one item that really stood out was the shiitake bao. This dish was unique, creative, and surprisingly delicious. The bao itself was perfectly soft and fluffy, while the shiitake filling had a savory, umami-packed flavor that made each bite memorable. It was definitely something different from the usual offerings and felt like a dish worth recommending to anyone who decides to eat here.

Overall, while not everything impressed me, the shiitake bao alone made the visit worthwhile. If you’re looking for something distinct and flavorful, that’s the dish I’d say is a must-try.

Good spot with tasty food. I wasn’t a fan of the Tom Yum or the Papaya salad (too saucy and sweet). Everything else was very good. Okay service. The girl assisting us wasn’t great and she then had a guy help us who was much better.
