The ramen in on the less expensive end for the springs area but it was good, we got the tonkatsu. The soy egg was probably the best part of the toppings as the pork was a little bland and dry (still good though). The broth was very garlicy. The noodles were very good and retained the classic firm structure of good ramen during the full time period of dining. It feels like ramen isn’t really their specialty but I would still order from here because of the price and the noodles.
The chicken katsu was pretty good and the serving size was massive, especially for the price. It took a couple of days to actually finish all of the leftovers. It is pretty tender and the breading wasn’t too thick but was still crispy. The sauce was pretty good as well.
The service was by far the best part about this place. Our server, Mei Mei, was probably the best server we have had in the Springs area. She was attentive and explained parts of the menu. When it was time to leave, she insisted (basically politely demanded) that we put the extra katsu sauce in a separate container instead of over the katsu. This was of course a good call and kept the katsu from getting soggy as leftovers. She seemed to have respect for the food which is encouraging to see, especially if that is the attitude held by the rest of the staff.
The atmosphere was nice, especially considering the area and time. While they were busy, it didn’t feel crowded. There were several couples and young families dining here. The furniture and fixtures etc seemed well taken care of. The only small complaint was the menus were a little dirty but that could have just been ours.
Overall the food here is pretty good but the real selling points is the fantastic service and comparatively more affordable food. We will have to return to try out some other menu options.
Don’t listen to the haters! Come during their lunch special and you will not be disappointed, we sure weren’t! Found our new favorite sushi spot for sure.
Update. This is a Hidden Gem of Sushi in CO. Springs. The Sushi was incredible, the Service was Amazing, the Waitress had Excellent Recommendations. It wasn’t Busy, so the Wait time for Sushi was 20 minutes top. Also, our Waitress was Very Helpful and Beautiful.
Highly Recommended !!!
I came here to celebrate my moms birthday and was under the impression they had a hibachi grill, not on them for me not checking the pictures however when I arrived and asked about the hibachi grill they informed me that they don’t do the hibachi show and were supposed to mention that to me when I was making my reservation over the phone. That was never mentioned. Now I’m going to share my experience and I’d like anyone reading to keep a few things in mind as I share my thoughts. It wasn’t all bad. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived. No other guests. It’s my mom’s birthday celebration and she dressed up beautifully in a birthday outfit. So we arrive and get seated and we order drinks and some small appetizers such as the Miso Soup. The waitress brings out the Miso Soup and drops it on my mom. On her expensive felt coat. Clumsy or malicious? I’m not sure but I do know the three working behind the counter were laughing at the situation. Despicable. It really did seem like it was intentional to throw the soup on my mom. I’ve been a server and I didn’t notice anything in the way of her reach or where she was standing. Whether it was intentional or not, It was in fact very careless and not up to general customer service standards. Being trained professionally and accordingly should prevent things like this from happening especially since we were the ONLY people eating in the entire restaurant so there was no rush and I just can’t find any other explanation to why the soup was dropped at all. Anyways I then got up to go get napkins to help the waitress clean up our table. I got napkins and then she came out and gave me the towels and then WALKED AWAY?!?!? So I went and cleaned up the table myself. Ridiculous really. Anyways we then asked for the manager to serve us instead. I got my fried rice and I will say that it tasted good for rice but it barely had any chicken or greens or anything else other than rice. 1/10 fried rice in my opinion I’ve gotten better from a southern bistro. From here everything was fine. The manager is a really sweet lady and she was kind to us. She even gave us a beautiful dessert which I included a photo of. I personally wouldn’t come here again due to the attitudes of the people behind the counter they were truly disgusting and just the pure carelessness the waitress had. I’ve been a server in many jobs and I have never ever spilled an easy to carry bowl of soup on anyone. On their birthday outfit? Crazy. Thank you to the manager for the dessert and your professionalism
