Really amazing classic Filipino food! Ordered the crispy pata and their veggie vegan pancit. Both were super flavorful and the pata was cooked perfectly. Service is fast casual as they’re inside Urban Hawker. They paired both with a hot chili sauce. Would definitely recommend especially in comparison to all the touristy restaurants in the area.

They are now inside the Urban Hawker. The actual restaurant shown in google map with a store front photo moved to a different location.
The pork adobo was delicious and very big portion for me. It can easily be shared by 2 people so you can try something else. In addition to the vegan pancit, the rambutan salad is also vegan. Only after we finished the meal and talked to the cashier saying it’d be nice if they had somethings like tofu for protein for the vegan dish that he said they have and can add tofu on the side. We would definitely pay extra to get the tofu had we known, but it wasn’t in the menu. They also have a Singaporean laksa on the front glass screen, but this place is supposed to specialize in filipino food so it is quite odd, plus there are already 3 or 4 different singaporean stalls inside urban hawker.
Overall I would recommend this place.

At the old 8th ave location right before the move, had a great kamayan meal. Space was a bit cramped for the 8 of us. The dishes were shared in pairs without some of the larger format items. Grolled fish, shrimp, bbq pork and more on top a heaping bed of rice and bamana leaves. Need to try the menu at the larger new location.

Food stall in the Urban Hawker food court. For $19.60, I was definitely expecting a little more from the Singaporean Laksa. It comes with a hard boiled egg, 6 artificial meat balls (probably frozen) and some rice noodles. It was not worth it. Broth was flavorful with great spice profile and a hint of sweetness. I left feeling gypped

Reviewing as a Filipino visiting New York City. This restaurant is recommended for takeout.

For food, the sisig was tasty.

For service, the ordering process could be improved. Based on the restaurant layout, diners may need to guess if ordering is at the counter or at the table. Also, the level of attention per table is on the lower end for a table service type restaurant. Finally, I hope the hospitality can reach the same level as in Manila.

For atmosphere, the introduction of Filipino ornaments, lighting fixtures and photography was appreciated. However, and this may be a New York City thing, a restaurant with table service generally has an in-restaurant bathroom. To our surprise, the bathroom was at another restaurant (which does not have table service).

The Karekare is amazing and way better than Max. The sauce was perfect thick and delicious and the meat was fork tender. It was not the usual ox tail with tripe recipe but I actually liked it better. I like how the veggies were not mixed into the sauce.
Would definitely come back to try the other dishes.

We were excited to visit one of the Filipino restaurant in NYC, the food is okay I love the adobong pusit and sinigang(not in the picture) but the rest taste sweet, my friend ordered Kare-Kare and it was too sweet which shouldnt taste like that, pansit is also a little sweet. We didn’t finish a lot of food we took it home with a 2 hrs flight back home in KY the food was spoiled except the pansit. I don’t know what weny wrong with the food but its cold so we didnt expect it to be spoiled quickly. Other than that it was nice trying Filipino Food in NYC!

Filipino food stall that has the famous Filipino dishes. Not a traditional or super authentic restaurant though, it has some fusion that caters to the western palate. Otherwise, great choice if you’re just trying to scratch that filipino food craving.

Singaporean Laksa – great broth, the spice definitely had my nose watering but I could still enjoy the coconut flavor and finish the soup. The protein is pretty standard and not especially seasoned, but I am not expecting anything too fancy from a comfort food dish. Good portion just enough for a filling dinner
