Just had lunch at the Carrot Tree. The staff were wonderful and friendly even though it was super busy we got such great service. My lunch was so fresh and hot and simply wonderful. The carrot cake is really great too. They gave furloughed federal employees a free lunch and it was amazing. They were so kind and lunch was so wonderful….It will be the first place I go out to eat when we get a paycheck again. It is amazing to have such a kind local business. I do not have enough kind words to say.

Best carrot cake in the Tidewater. Huge venue with a fabulous array of dessert options. Staff were very polite.

Easily the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in Williamsburg. Visiting from Texas and heard great things about the bakery. Decided to try the restaurant and was the worst idea of my trip. Bakery is very good true to what they say, but just avoid the restaurant at all costs. Wasn’t busy at all inside. Food took almost an hour to get to our table to the point where we thought the waitress forgot to put in our order. quality of food was horrible, did not match the prices at all. Service was subpar. Food seemed microwaved. Just wasn’t good at all. Ruined my day

Cute dining areas. Everything was clean. Nice selection of foods. They serve breakfast all day. I had a nice fresh house salad. Their blue cheese dressing was very delicious, to thick to pour! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Check out was easy using their Toast system.

I feel the prices are too high. Once in awhile I buy a bacon cheeseburger for my son. $13.32 is pricey but it’s a good burger. I notice older people are the customers. As a matter of fact I learned that due to the clientele they don’t have a full bar anymore. The service is excellent. Decent food but too pricey on all desserts. I wouldn’t go sit and eat because it’s not the environment I like but I suggest, you should try.

Three of us had lunch here and everyone was very happy with the food and service. We had the 1607 sampler, a turkey wrap, and a chicken & mushroom tart with a salad. Their ham salad and tuna salad was really tasty. I also liked the pimento salad and chicken salad with carrots and orzo salad. We also tried the oatmeal raisin cookies, they were really good. This was my third time eating here, can’t wait to go back.

Food very fresh and delicious! Service gets an A+ as they were all very patient and friendly with good knowledge of the menu. Very clean and warm environment. I will definitely be back. I was on a date but they are Kid and family friendly. Our server was attentive and sweet so bring a big tip…they deserve it!

The cheese burger (Donna’sBurger) I had was pretty standard but good. So was the Carrot Salad side I had. The salad was vinegar based which was quite different than I was expecting. Dorian (Waitress) was attentive & friendly. I will have to agree with another reviewer in that it was very pricey for such a basic lunch. I dropped $19.00 ($21.09 after tax) for a burger with a side and a Diet Pepsi.

I stopped in 15 minutes before close to grab a quick snack. The first thing we asked was if they were still open and a young girl very rudely said yes but we close in 15 minutes then stormed off to the back. We opted to leave, but as we left she came back out and said “oh you’re leaving? BYE!”
We were in there less than a few minutes and if we got something it would have been before closing, so why would someone who works here be so rude?
my family has gone here for years for their to go foods and I recommend it for that. the service was really bad and that makes me not want to go back

Went here just because another restaurant in the same plaza was packed, and I am so glad we stopped in!!! The food was so delicious. It was as if my grandmother was in the kitchen cooking in her old propane gas stove. Everything had a savory homemade taste. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the coffee was delicious, there were no pretentious hipsters looking at you funny while you order, and best of all there were no college kids/bored house wives/work from home people taking up seats or tables with their computers, pretending to work while you stand there awkwardly looking for a place to sit. Yeah im talking about you 1607. Carrot tree kitchens is Williamsburgs hidden gem!
