The food was excellent. We got here pretty much by chance. I had the surf and turf plate and my husband had the haddock and potato chowder. Both were really delicious and looked beautiful. The service may have been a bit dlow but i didn’t mind much and it was worth it, too.

Our family came here for dinner during the busy fall-peeper season so we weren’t surprised there was a wait for dinner. It didn’t take long to be seated but they let us know it would be 45 minutes to get food (it only took 30). In the meantime we enjoyed delicious beverages and the servers (Diana was amazing!) were friendly and attentive even though super busy.
Franconia is a quieter local town than the more commercialized other local ski towns and we were thrilled to be visiting. It was cool to see people from all over the world and have a long chat with locals at the end of the night. Oh yeah, the food was delicious also! Big menu. I’m not sure I cared though because the ambiance made it the most special.

We stopped at The Dutch Treat seeking refuge from a blizzard. The place was full of people so we knew it must be good. Diana was great with my two little boys and we greatly enjoyed dinner.

We were driving back from Vermont, and stopped in here for brunch – and what a great find!

They were off to a slow start, with one server at opening – but she was so friendly. We went on St. Patrick’s Day, so of course we had to get their corned beef special. At the waitress’s recommendation, we also got the steak and cheese and French onion soup.

The one redeeming quality of this restaurant is the food, which was solid. We had the Cobb salad, mushroom cheddar burger, cheesesteak, and crab cakes. The service and wait to get our food was possibly the slowest I have ever experienced. It would have been comical if we weren’t so hungry! The place was about half full, and literally one table was eating at a time. Several groups left because they couldn’t wait any longer. And the waitstaff seemed to have no sense that this was a problem. The primary waitress had zero warmth and actually walked away from our table right before taking our order because she remembered something else she had to do. She figured out which table to deliver to by standing at the kitchen door and yelling, “who got the clam chowder?!” I’ll try and give the benefit of the doubt that it’s not this bad in the less busy (non-autumn) season.

I have some food allergies, so I usually have to request changes to what I order. Our waitress Diana helped me modify my meal tonight! I was very pleasantly surprised with how nice they made my meal Perfect & Yummy! I appreciate this so much that I couldn’t wait to share! Casual dining! Two sides the restaurant, dining and bar area. Homemade Pies but I don’t eat dessert. They had a lava chocolate cake that looks amazing! My family enjoyed every bit and they also have a peanut butter moose dessert tonight that sounded absolutely amazing. Thank you for making my dining experience an excellent one.

Our server Diana was insufferable. When asked typical questions she was snippy and you could tell she wanted to make you feel stupid for asking at all. We were hoping to get some of the meals from when the restaurant was on Restaurant Impossible but it looked like they got rid of them all and went back to food that tastes less than mediocre. My husband ordered the French onion soup which was bitter. The crab cakes were definitely not fresh. The breading on the bang bang shrimp was falling off. The only pleasant part of the place was the bus boy who brought us to our table and made sure to check on us. We made sure to bring cash for the bill since the servers are known to add onto their own tips if you use a card. All around disappointment.

I got a French onion soup, the Philly cheeseteak and a cranberry spritzer. Everything was fresh and great tasting. Service was exceptional, the waitress was friendly and accomadating. It was a great find for a quick solo lunch.

Went to Dutch’s for the first time after their ‘make over’/remodel (see more on Restaurant Impossible) and was impressed. Same family style service, but the menu has definitely been upgraded. Wife had the Portobello Sandwich and I had a huge serving of Crispy Chicken. Both were super tasty! The interior decor is a great refresh, and the beer/wine/drink selection remains great. Busier now that some other local spots have closed. We will try the pizza next. Good bar too!

Started with their autumn bisque soup. Ohh wow! So good, I wish we could take some home!
Fish and chips- breaded haddock which was wonderful! Flakey chunks of fish, not greasy at all. The coleslaw had a little kick to it ! Thick fries.
Chicken Cobb salad – perfect! Crisp spring mix and ALL the add-ins you would expect! Great.
Diane -thank you!
Trivia night was happening in the bar area and it sounded very fun!
