We always have a great experience here. Easy going, casual, laid back atmosphere. From the hammocks on the marina deck, to the lounge chairs at the pool, this place screams, “pull up a seat & relax”. The staff is super friendly & the patrons have always been a nice mix of people (neighborhood locals, business travelers, wedding parties, vacationers, etc) We travel alot & always make a point to try to stop off here for a day or two-just to chill & wind down.

Based on the excellent reviews, and the absolutely BEAUTIFUL bar & hotel area inside, we were excited to grab lunch at Compass Bar & Chill. We walked in and while the person at the front desk looked up, she didn’t greet us. We walked over to the bar/restaurant area and it was completely empty. We checked the hours again to make sure they were open, and then we noticed one table of people outside, so we decided to grab a spot at the bar. The bar itself was beautiful and well-stocked and I saw someone’s purse and half-gone Starbucks on the counter, so we figured we’d wait a minute – and that someone must have just run to the kitchen or restroom. After more than five minutes, we finally got up to leave, and just as we did, a woman came out from the kitchen. She looked at us, and I asked, “Are you actually open?” to which she responded, simply, “yeah.” There was no “How can I help you?” or acknowledgement that we’d been waiting. When I said, “thank you,” and continued to walk away, she said nothing more. The service was pretty disappoint here, and it stinks that we never got to find out if the food was actually good.

Some friends invited me to join them at this hotel bar, just yards from Anna Maria Island. First of all the ocean view is amazing. The staff is super friendly. I ordered the chicken quessadillas and they were great. Definitely recommend!

It’s worth the trip to Compass Bar and Chill. Today was Taco Tuesday. Chef Ernesto didn’t skimp on the fish, beef or chicken. Bartender Crystal is a true professional. Saw many patrons enjoying soccer on the big screen.

Cindy brought great banter, however she had way too many tables and guests and take care of us in a timely manner. I charge that to management and not Cindy. I think she did her very best. Took us a long time to get silverware, water etc.

My elderly mother passed out on the way out of the restaurant. The manager and her wait staff were very helpful during this emergency. After the manager called 911 for us, she helped with the 9 month old baby in our party while I helped my mother. She stuck with us until the ambulance arrived. The staff were also clam and helpful with comfort measures like ice and cold cloths. Me and my family were grateful for their assistance in our time of need.
