Arrived at this location famished. My sister bragged about how much she loves the white fish fillet and the Hawaiian bbq chicken, and not to mention the macaroni salad that really stimulates her appetite!
The restaurant just opened that day and the staff was still cleaning up the tables. The staff took our orders; we were asked to get our own water, also some sauces available. Our food was supposed to be picked up at the front, but the guy brought our food to our table. Thank you for your great service. (Maybe he noticed that we’re seniors.)
We’re so delighted with our choices, the white fish was incredibly delicious! I love every single bite! Will definitely come back!

It is true what other reviews said – the portion size is super small and they only give you a tiny bit of meat. I was shocked to see my food came like that. Go to other locations or panda next door. Service is super nice tho.

Ono Hawaiian is one of the local spots where you can eat some “ono” Hawaiian food in Buena Park. The experience with online ordering is easy. Our order was prepared and ready near the time given, and pick-up was tolerable. The restaurant was busy each time, so there was some wait, even for early dinner pick-up time. Other times, it’s been a smooth experience.
I enjoy the food here, and the staff prepares the meals consistently. The chicken katsu and fried shrimp have a crispy outer with tender meat inside. The mayo-heavy and creamy macaroni salad pairs well with the entrées. Sometimes, the macaroni salad can be a bit vinegary. You may like Ono’s version if you like creamy Hawaiian-style mac salad. The plate portions are also generous. The musubi offered are also tasty. I’ve had the classic spam and the BBQ beef.
Please make sure you get all the sauces when picking up your orders. A few times, the katsu sauce for the chicken katsu plate wasn’t included in our takeout, which was a little disappointing.
The staff manages to provide quality service, but I can understand when it gets swamped during peak dining hours. Overall, I’ve had good experiences at Ono Hawaiian. I don’t dine in much here, but the space is kept clean and relaxing when the crowds don’t build up. There are also a few tables just outside the door.
We also used coupons that were only redeemable through online ordering. The company’s website, newsletter, and social accounts occasionally offer coupon codes and deals.

Last night came here and order the Katsu and Beef plate during This time my order was forgotten and an employee stood on top of the counter and declared he was quitting. Shortly I got my food made it home and realized this place just gave me vegetable & mac with none of the food. At this time I am going through a broken shoulder and cannot make it back up there after. I relentlessly started calling at 8:40 with no one answering the phone although it was full staffed when I left. After this and the non call I have decided to contact corporate, theirs levels to professionalism and this store just doesn’t have it. 17$ just for vegetables and mac.

She was cleaning restroom, taking out of trash in restroom or near entrance, or she brought my order to where I sat on one of their stools, facing front entrance.

I got hooked after I tried a month and half ago.

My least favorite Hawaiian BBQ chain. $12 for my plate, which had very little meat on it. Can’t trade the mixed salad for the macaroni salad. L&L and Aloha both give you a bigger bang for your buck. It may have just been this location, but I won’t be comparing any. First and last time. At least the restaurant is clean though.
