Down side, he found a dead moth in his side salad and there were houseflies constantly flying around us which was annoying.lastly, when we left and walked past the delivery door (next to the sidewalk) there was an employee smoking and complaining about customers. Probably not the best place to do that.
Overall though, the food was really good, would go back and try some other menu items.
First, I love diners and I believe this is a very good one. Second, i waffled over whether to get breakfast or lunch (pun intended). Third, I am a picky eater.
Having said that, I decided on breakfast and got French toast. I used to dislike French toast because everyone makes it soggy and eggy. I whip the ingredients, add cinnamon, and dunk the bread quickly. I also air fry it for slight crispness. So it is unfair for me to hold Henry’s to my standard.
Soooo… the French toast was soggy, eggy, and rather bland tasting. The potatoes and bacon were cooked perfectly and delicious.
What I “coulda, woulda, shoulda” gotten was a burger and fries. I saw someone else’s. The burger looked tasty and had a big pile of fries.
Please do not take this as a negative. I just didn’t like the French toast but you may love it. I definitely need to go back for the burger!
Service was friendly and quick and the place was busy on a Thursday morning @ 11:15.
They “think” or “say” they serve NY System Weiners but they’re not. They even talk the talk. “All the way”
Close, but not correct. All the flavors are off and the buns aren’t steamed. The meat sauce was a lighter color, I couldn’t taste the celery salt……NO MUSTARD at all, the onions aren’t the finely chopped sweet. I’m not sure if the Weiners are the veal and pork combo or not. All the other flavors being off so much might have tainted the dog flavor too. The Weiner ends were in fact cut off square as if they were the real deal……but I’m not sure.
Not a bad chili dog but not a NY System. They either cut corners on the recipe or not buying from authentic distributor(s) in Rhode Island.
The picture attached is one of three. (I can’t believe they’d send something looking like that out) It was the worst of three. As you can see there’s no mustard. I had to ask for more onions and celery salt. This time I could “see” the celery salt, but it still wasn’t good
I thought it was too good to be true to have them in CT.
Huge disappointment.
Oh well.
Now on the other hand. The New England clam chowder was excellent
Not like wallpaper paste I’ve gotten some places. Could be the best I’ve ever had
My wife got a great turkey sandwich on a very fresh bulkie roll and she said the turkey tasted like fresh turkey. Very nice
The rest of the menu looks good and we’ll be back for sure.
*Just no counterfeit Weiners for me
