The pool table was flat as a pancake and with free games all day Sunday the games room was an unexpected treat. The restaurant has recently changed hands and now goes by the name MYTHRI. This is pronounced like My Three, but with the Three being halfway between the British “Tree” and “Three”. It is of Sanskrit origin and means “friendship”. And a friendly welcome was certainly my first experience on entering the restaurant. This was to be my first meal in an Indian restaurant since Jagannath Puri, Odisha in 2010. I follow an AhImsa Dairy and Vegan diet, which is not generally understood this side of Gujarat. The waiter respected my ethical/spiritual orientation and asked the head chef to come to my table to reassure me that he understood my needs. He kindly adapted one of the standard paneer and vegetable curries, replacing the soft cheese cubes with cauliflower florets. I was thus given a la carte treatment without extra cost. The chef,( I think his name is Doolal Rann) also managed to serve up butter-soft rotis without the butter. Lacking the absorbant capacity of the soft panneer cubes, the sauce was a little too hot for my palate and oesophagus. The owner, who had popped over to ask whether everything was OK, suggested a bowl of plain white rice. This came in profusion and only one minute after placing the order. The decor was modern, without any Indian iconography. Nevertheless the theme reflected the colours and ambiance of the beautiful warm glow of Jaipuri lounges. The menu was a work of art in itself. I look forward to many return visits and am in eager anticipation at the prospect of introducing my omnivore and herbivore friends to this unique brand of Brig ‘a’ Don dining and companionship. I would choose to translate Mythri as companionship which literally means the cultural tradition of sharing bread with one another. My only complaint was that the beautiful MYTHRI tee-shirts worn by all the staff (Fred Perry style) were not on sale.

The new Mythri Indian restaurant is now open. Visited last week on Monday, and hard to find words to describe the whole experience. Absolutely amazing doesn’t do it justice.
Our group of 6 adults and 1 child, each had a different dish, so we could share and sample what the dishes were like. Every one was truly delicious. Packed full of flavour and spices. I decided to try the Bandgobi, a popular street food in India. It was mind blowingly good. I shared with everyone at the table, and the presentation was stunning.
We started with poppadoms and the chutney trays.
Then we had Chicken Ceylon, Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala, Lamb Kadai, Chicken Peshwari, Lamb Roganjosh. Garlic Naan and Peshwari Naan. As stated, every dish was perfectly cooked. Lamb was tender and melt in the mouth, chicken was moist and tender.
Naans were fluffy and tasty.
Even if you don’t live in the Bridge of Don, the trip is worth it to sample their massive menu.
Worth noting, it’s the first restaurant I have ever seen Prawn Balchow being served in the UK. That’s what I will have on the next visit.
The menu is extensive and with many special dishes as well as traditional Indian dishes.
The staff were first class, professional and very attentive and appreciated when the beer glass was almost empty, another one came.
Even at 6pm,the restaurant was busy with more people arriving through the evening.
I asked about carryouts, and they are establishing the restaurant first before doing carry outs. But, you can visit, place your order in the restaurant and wait for the order being prepared. That is great news too.
Can’t wait to go back.

Dinner for four friends tonight in Mythri Restaurant. Four different choices of very tasty food, well presented and served politely and efficiently by friendly staff. Located in the Bridge of Don, but worth travelling to from afar. Mythri is about friendship and we will return soon with more friends.

We’ve had the pleasure of attending several events at the Highland Suite at Parkway Inn over the past few months, and each experience has been exceptional.

✨ The ambience is warm and inviting, with modern décor that strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The food has consistently impressed—flavorful, beautifully presented, and often tailored to guests’ preferences in terms of taste and spice levels. We especially appreciated the use of fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients, which added a thoughtful touch to every dish.

The suite itself is a versatile space with great potential for hosting everything from intimate gatherings to large celebrations.

Conveniently, the venue also offers ample parking, making it easy for guests to attend without hassle.
I highly recommend this new gem in town to anyone looking for a stylish and accommodating venue for their next event or special occasion.

Was working in Aberdeen and a colleague who lived nearby recommended we go here for dinner. The venue has been recently renovated and they’ve done a great job with it. The decor is simple and stylish.
There are plenty of tables in the main bar and there is a side room that has a fart board and a pool table. It was a pleasant surprise to find it was only 50p to play pool!
We then had dinner – they do a standard pub menu, but the Indian mane is the way to go. Amazing, freshly prepared curries and the fluffiest naan bread I’ve ever had! It’s easily the best curry I’ve eaten in years.
