Great little diner and worth the extra 3 minutes off the highway to avoid the fast food joints. Right in the heart of historic Chilhowee.
Stopped off for breakfast on the way home. Anytime you see the local police eating in a joint you know it is good.
Love, the fact that the entire menu was on one sheet of paper, there’s something to be said about a simple uncomplicated menu that delivers great food. Eggs bacon toast with apple butter and stewed apples. Great value and our sever Makayla was cheerful and attentive. Will definitely be stopping by the next time we head this way.

Stumbled on Papa’s Cafe & Country Elegance while heading home. Everything about this little restaurant is comforting. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The owner and staff are friendly and treat you like family. The biscuits are absolutely delicious very light and fluffy!! Our breakfasts were delicious and the coffee was perfect! Bring your appetite, the portions are big.

Couple recent visits haven changed my earlier review. Breakfast was great. Biscuits/gravy, country ham, eggs, apples, hash browns, yum. Fast, professional friendly service and good food at a very reasonable price. Clean and nice too!

First time in the quaint café. Decorated like grandma’s kitchen in full southern charm. The staff was quick to greet me as I entered. When asked what she recommended she said “its all good” then told me the special of the day was loaded potato soup or meatloaf. I chose the soup and chicken salad sandwich combo for $8. Both were good, as promised. I live two hours away but will definitely be stopping back in if I’m down that way. Right off the I-81 exit, take a right at the light and you’ll be there in 2 minutes. I hear they have specialty dinners on Friday nights.

Aptly named, as the fellow that greeted me when I walked in the door was probably in his mid 70s, as was my hostess, I believe maybe a husband and wife team, they were great. My waitress was friendly, there were two omelet options on the menu, cheese and everything I picked everything and man did it have everything . I don’t know how they got it off the grill. Also ordered a large orange juice, that thing was at least 20 oz I’ve never seen an orange juice like it in a restaurant anywhere. (Look at the size of that glass next to the qrt jar.) The only thing I wasn’t extremely fond of was the coffee, I could see through it. There was a haphazard collection of tables and chairs throughout which I thought was cool, decorated in Southern Country Charm for the most part. I wasn’t too excited about the southern baptist radio station that was on but I probably sat too close to the radio itself. I would definitely drive the mile or two off the highway that it takes to get here again rather than eat at a chain restaurant. Good food, friendly folks, well priced.

Quaint cafe with terrific food! This was my second visit & the chicken salad sandwich was absolutely delicious!! I opted for the combo with their potato soup & it was warm, tasty & plentiful with veggies. The bacon on top was phenomenal – actual bacon cooked extra crispy! The adjoining store has a larger variety of Little Debbie snacks than I’ve ever seen & they are hugely discounted. Both the restaurant & store are well kept & the staff seems genuinely interested in seeing you enjoy your food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
