Woodstar Café is a family-owned bakery, sandwich shop and full-service espresso bar located in downtown Northampton, MA. We bake from scratch using traditional techniques and pure ingredients. No preservatives. No trans-fats. And if we can go local and organic, boy, do we ever, including an ever-increasing quantity of free-range eggs, fruits, berries, and vegetables from our own nearby farm.

My granddaughter’s favorite coffee shop. When we visited her at Smith College, this is where she took us for morning coffee and pastries.
The staff was awesome and the coffee and pastries were delicious. It was a fun place to relax and visit with our granddaughter.
We definitely plan to go back the next time we visit her!

I finally get the hype, and it’s in the form of their grilled cheese sandwiches! Excellent mochas, thirst quenching ginger lemonades, and fresh ‘n flakey croissants. It can get busy, but this is one of the few places in town where it’s worth the wait.

The food here is genuinely good, but the staff are consistently rude and dismissive. I’ve called twice to confirm a pre-packaged product was available, then drove over to buy it, only to be told they had it but wouldn’t sell it unless it was in their pre-measured packaging. The interaction felt snarky and unnecessarily rigid. It’s disappointing, because the food is worth it, but the attitude from the staff on this occasion and others makes it likely I won’t go back.

I love stopping at Woodstar for coffee and a sweet treat. I tried a bagel here yesterday and it was delicious. The service is quick and the environment is nice. It is a pretty small space but there are usually tables open. I highly recommend!

Food was great, but doesn’t excuse the terrible atmosphere. The lady with dark hair and glasses should not be in the service industry if she’s going to be such an insufferable human being. Me and my wife will never be coming here again which is a sham because the food was very delicious.

Sandwich had like no meat on it. Bread was hard. Expensive sandwich for no meat and Tony bread. Bagel was so tiny like 4 bites and you’re done.

Today was my first time visiting the cafe and I will absolutely be back! Hot chocolate was one of the best I’ve ever had and breakfast sandwich was great! Bread was fresh and the environment was comforting. Staff was friendly and kind. Great experience, looking forward to coming back!
