Great food, reasonable prices. However, one thing ruined our Valentine’s Day evening. After eating the starter, my wife found a metal hook in her main course. She ordered pasta with seafood. Before taking her first bite, she found a metal hook. I immediately reported it to the staff. The waiter offered us a new dish. We said we didn’t want it. He apologised and left. It was only when we got home that we realised how dangerous it was. If my wife had swallowed the hook, our Valentine’s Day evening would have ended in hospital. No response from the staff. The staff did not even offer a free glass of wine or dessert to smooth things over. It was a real threat to life. It’s a shame because it was our first visit to this place and we were really impressed with the quality of the food. The service leaves a lot to be desired. They looked like they were there under duress.

Absolutely amazing restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was very friendly and quick, and the overall atmosphere was great! It is also very clear that highly qualitative ingredients are being used to prepare the food. Will be back again 100%.

A Visually Stunning Italian Restaurant with Room for Culinary Improvement

From the moment you arrive, this restaurant captivates with charm — vibrant flowers line the walkway, and the entrance feels like stepping into a garden. Inside, the design is equally impressive, resembling an art gallery with elegant décor, fresh flower scents, and thoughtfully arranged spaces. The bar to the right and the small private event area to the left show clear care and creativity.

The menu features a wide range of Italian dishes, which we were excited to try. We started with garlic bread, which unfortunately lacked any garlic flavor — it tasted more like plain toast with butter. For mains, we ordered a Margherita pizza with chicken and a Gamberoni e Zucchine. The shrimp in the risotto were nicely cooked but it was tastelessand I had to use salt and pepper to give it a bit of test, the pizza was bland and severely burned around the edges, tested nothing like Italian pizza at all, making some slices inedible. Disappointingly, we had to leave a few pieces behind — something I’ve never done with Italian pizza in an Italian restaurant.

The service was warm, and the owner was very friendly. However, the head waitress was unsure of key menu details — she incorrectly told us the shrimp were fried, she was did not offer us the chicken pizza which was on the menu and told us to have Margherita pizza with checking on top, Our water glasses were also visibly dirty. I later noticed a staff member adjusting her socks and then polishing wine glasses without washing her hands — a lapse in hygiene that stood out.

We were seated near the open kitchen, which could have been enjoyable, but the loud staff conversations in a non-Italian or English language disrupted the atmosphere.

Despite these issues, the setting is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen in a Scottish Italian restaurant. I’d still recommend visiting for a drink or light bite, simply to enjoy the stunning ambiance. The neighboring table praised their steaks, which I’m looking forward to trying on a return visit. Hopefully, next time the food will match the venue’s exceptional visual appeal and welcoming staff

We had a truly special evening here. A fantastic dining experience with great food, genuine hospitality and a wonderful atmosphere. A real highlight was the owner singing in Italian, a personal touch that made the night unforgettable. Service was friendly, attentive and well-timed, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented throughout. The surprise macaroons and “congratulations” plaque were a lovely finishing touch.
Highly recommended for a special occasion, we’ll definitely be back.

My husband and I went for dinner here recently because many of his clients spoke fondly of this restaurant, even in google reviews were 4.7 rating it can’t be that you eat badly here, right? Wrong, you can!
the reality is that the dinner was a disaster.

I ordered the spaghetti carbonara, a dish which i have regularly in Italy and Spain, so know how it should taste and be cooked.
This carbonara tasted of pig fat and not cream and egg. The Pancetta was extremely low quality, which you can see from the photo.
All it tasted of and all the dish had was pig fat that stuck to the pallet of your mouth.
The real flavour was not the cream that is expected but the fat that was on the whole plate, in fact it was difficult for me to find some pieces with some meat.

All this for the modest price of £15.50 maybe for many people this is not much money in and around Aberdeen but believe me I have eaten much better for much less.

My Husband didn’t have much luck either, by ordering the Tagliatelle a lla marinara £19 (authentic napoli sauce) I guess it was authentic Neapolitan “pot” sauce basically the pasta swam in red water, there was no flavour and we changed our dishes to taste each others. My wonderful pasta and his tagliatelle, we both couldn’t finish our dishes.

When we left the “Restaurant” we could not hide our displeasure and we made it known how bad the food was, but they only tried to justify the dishes. Something pretty poor in a place of this category. Of course after this experience we will not be returning and will let our friends and family know how bad the quality was for these prices.

This restaurant will continue to be filled with customers each week because there are simply few options to eat good authentic Italian food around Aberdeen. of course if this restaurant was in Italy, it would already be closed.

From Italian, it only has the name.

We often forget about Borsalino as it is in Peterculter and we live in town, but this is to our detriment as it is certainly one of the best Italian restaurants in the Aberdeen area.
Long established, it is popular and you will usually have to book. The car park is a bit restricted but it is on the main road making walking to it inadvisable.
The food is always fantastic. We both had starters and pasta for main course: all dishes were excellent.
Dinner for two with a couple of beers and a coffee came to a little over £60, which we considered reasonable.

Staff are very professional, tables nicely laid out and welcoming, However our table was next to a wall and restricting. Our food was bland and not enough seasoning, reasonable portion sizes. Presentation of food could have been better and more thought out. Restaurant clean and linen immaculate. It is worth a visit.

Lovely meal and time with family. Lovely service and atmosphere.

Bruschetta was really good.

Menu is limited with not many speciality dishes considering the high price. Much of the menu items are as expected for an Italian – but you would get the same, or even better quality food at another restaurant for a lower price.

The specials on offer were £25 each, and what came on the plate is reflective of a meal worth about £15 max. Non Margharita Pizza’s were around £17 – although they were large, I would get a better pizza for a better price at Zizzi’s or even dominoes – it didn’t need to be that expensive.

Overall a nice experience, but I think I will go somewhere cheaper for my family Christmas meal in future.
