Food Taste great if you actually get what you ordered.. if ordering online make sure to call and ask what’s available. They do whatever they want. Ordered 3 beef empanadas and got all cheese. Ordered a passion fruit juice and I got lemonade.. has happened to me twice with them. Called the second time to complain she told me they fill orders with what they have and hung up on me as I was speaking. Called again and they kept hanging up once they realized it was me.

When I first started coming here years ago, the food was top notch. NOW, its mid at best. Pricing keeps going up while quality has been deteriorating. Just paid 18 bucks for a small oxtail, with barely any oxtail. Salty as all hell, and not really flavorful besides the abundance of salt. Rice undercooked and plantain hard and dry. Walking in music is always over the top loud. Customer service always lacking. My last time wasting money with them. Food directly in the trash.

From the moment we walked in, everything felt smooth and well-organized. We were seated quickly, and the staff was courteous and attentive throughout the entire meal. The pacing between courses was just right — we never felt rushed or left waiting too long. Tried the oxtail along with the stewed chicken. Not a combination I’ll try again. My oxtails were hard and very limited meat with both choices. More bones than anything else. Didn’t think it was worth the $14. The flavors were great.. employee’s were very nice and many options to choose from.. I just didn’t enjoy my meal. Once I ate the meat that i could I found myself still hungry.

I initially went to Carmen‘s kitchen today at 10 AM because that’s when they’re supposed to be open but they weren’t so then down the street. I saw Tropicalia and decided to give it a chance because I also love Dominican food.
Well, this food definitely brought me back to Santo Domingo when I used to go there with my ex during happier times. We ordered stewed chicken and rice and gandules with steak (pictured).
I would definitely recommend this restaurant! The worker who I spoke to was not fluent in English but we managed to communicate very well. The food is very fresh and very tasty! I will definitely be back!

So I Ordered online at 7:06pm I got an ETA Delivery of 25-38 mins (7:31-7:44) here it is 8:35 and food isn’t here yet!!! I’ve called NUMEROUS times 50+ times back to back to no Answer!! Terrible!. Building upgraded but food downgraded!!. The rice was ok but the stewed chicken had a huge amount of bones (even some that looked like they didn’t come from a chicken), slimy fatty skin, old tasting onions and some mystery stuff that had a strange texture!.Waste of time and money! This is a new discovery for take out while working in the city. Not in the greatest area in Wilmington, but quick service and everything is already prepared. Huge portion for only $10. This is roast pork with yellow rice and beans. Muy delicioso!
