Recommended by an acquaintance, we had a lovely evening with friends. As you walk in there is a delicious smell, staff were attentive and friendly. We had to wait a few minutes for our booked table. The food arrived in good time presented well and very tasty. Portion sizes were good. We’re were able to take our time without being rushed. All in all a lovely evening.

We were recommended the restaurant by a friend who works close by.
We went without making a table reservation on a Sunday night. There were a few tables dining already.
We were greeted by the host and seated at a large enough table for our party of 2. We ordered 3 poppadoms with the delicious chutneys & onions. We decided to begin our Viceroy experience with 2 beers and a still water (Voss big bottle 800ml) & ordered 3 poppadoms with the delicious chutneys & onions.
We ordered our main meal with 2 starters of mixed plates for 1 person comprising of an onion baji, lamb & chicken tikka. It was really tasty and just the right amount.
We ordered my lamb buhna medium heat ️ and my partners go to favourite chicken tikka masala but with a spicy madras heat ️ along with a garlic naan and one mushroom rice both of which were big enough for 2 to share.
An amazing meal, another thing to add so much meat in your curries… well done and keep up the hard work.
Staff were genuinely hardworking and nice. We will definitely be recommending to our friends and spreading the Viceroy of Windsor love!

Very impressed with this restaurant. It’s the best one I’ve been to in and around London. Staff is very attentive and I felt immediately comfortable. A great family led business that is clearly cherished amongst those living in Windsor. Dishes are of high quality too. Please do yourself a favour and order Onion Bhajis.

I dined solo at Viceroy Of Windsor last night. It was busy so I was hoping the wisdom of crowds would indicate a good meal in store.

Sadly it wasn’t a good meal.

Service was ok – nothing really to complain about – but the food was below average. Firstly it came out suspiciously quickly – in less than five minutes, making me wonder how much of it was actually made to order. I had chicken madras with pilau rice and nan, my go-to Indian restaurant order. It was way too hot, hotter than any other madras I’ve had (unusually it sliced chilli in it!) and lacked any real flavour. The sauce had an odd texture, not smooth and uniform but a little lumpy. Not that it was inedible, although I didn’t finish it because it was simply too hot. It didn’t taste like a madras just like a generic supermarket curry. The nan was fabulous: fluffy, light, buttery and straight out the tandoor but the rice was barely warm and its texture was that of yesterday’s rice reheated from the fridge. I walked home full but unsatisfied.

Overall it’s hard to recommend Viceroy Of Windsor. I was left with the impression that the curry was made excessively hot in order to mask the inadequacies of the rest of the meal, principally the lack of flavour and poor texture. The service was quick but not when it came to paying, presumably to encourage me to pay in cash and “keep the change”. Despite coming to this restaurant over a period of years, and in the (distant) past having a good experience, I’m afraid this was my last visit.

Lovely meal with half a dozen colleagues after a busy day at work. The food was excellent! We had plenty of space, with decent sized tables, always a bonus when there’s a lot of side dishes. The staff were helpful and pleasant. If I’m ever in Windsor overnight again, it’s on my list!

It’s a decent curry house. I love a jalfrezi and is my go to dish where ever I go – the jalfrezi here is a bit different and not what I would expect, still decent but not the best ever. Naans are good and the biryani is also a great option. I used to live in London and was blessed with having Indian Moment in Wandsworth as my local which might have made it difficult to compare to other restaurants as Moment is soo good and a ridiculously high standard.

Amazing food, incredible atmosphere and very friendly staff. The owner of the restaurant (Abbu) as well as Moin (one staff member in particular) were very accommodating and hospitable. Would definitely recommend.

We visited here on Sunday night, the service was impeccable, we didn’t have to wait for our food or drinks, the food was delicious really fresh, my only comment would be was my husband had Dansak and everywhere else it has pineapple in which apparently helps with the heat. That’s all, I’m only sorry it’s not my local curry house. Thank you for the great service and fresh food.

Visited whilst in Windsor for 3 days. One of the party has walking difficulties. Right from the start the staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful. Food was absolutely delicious, no long wait times. Premises were spotless and modern. Would I return …absolutely.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, as Indian food lovers, we weren’t disappointed. Presented with some wonderful condiments and poppadoms to start, We had a feast of Lamb Rogan, Chicken Jhall Freize, Dal Sambal, garlic Naan, pilau rice. Service was great, food served fast and we highly recommend. With a couple of gin and tonics, we spent £60 for two people. Sorry for our half eaten photo, we really wanted to give a great review after the first mouthful
