Great Mom and Pop in a nice neighborhood.

I found this place from a Google search. Was highly rated. We got there an hour after they opened and it took about 20 minutes to get a seat. Wasn’t a bad wait. Typical small business atmosphere and was very busy. They were offering their breakfast menu.

Our server was pleasant and cheerful. It didn’t take long to get our order and the potions were very generous.

I had the chicken fried steak and eggs with sausage gravy. We also had French toast and bacon (sausage) and eggs. The chicken fried steak was awesome with the gravy but I could eat only one of the patties (too full). Everyone loves their meals.

Thank you

The owner Brett and his team add lots of character to this local hangout. I was in Tacoma unexpectedly on a weekend craving a good mid-day breakfast, and they didn’t disappoint. I had the veggie omelette, it was egg-light and veggie heavy, the tangy crema and feta cheese along with ample sliced black olives made the dish. The hash browns are as perfect as they come – crisp on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. An added bonus, their drip coffee is my local fave Valhalla. I found my new breakfast place when I’m in Tacoma!

Stopped by on a Tuesday morning around 10am. Ample street parking available Upon arrival, we had our choice of tables with only two other customers already seated. Service was excellent and friendly. Asked for bottled water but unfortunately they do not offer any variety of bottled water so I took a diet coke instead. The surfer scramble was delivered hot to the table with eggs perfectly cooked and moist (not overcooked and dry). House made salsa placed in a small cup on the side was quite tasty and delicious. The kitchen sink was also delivered hot and was quite delicious with eggs perfectly cooked and tasty. I normally don’t eat hash browns but these were crispy and light and mixed with a bit of salsa were quite delicious. Side order of peppered bacon was quite tasty, crispy and well cooked but was a bit lacking on pepper. Wheat toast is thick, light and delicious.

Overall, we were quite pleased with our breakfast here with prices on the high side but which were reasonable considering the quality of the food delivered. We will be back next time we are in the neighborhood.

I was immediately seated and greeted. The food came out within 5-10 minutes of ordering and was SO GOOD. I meant to take a bite of the pancake and then eat my burrito, but instead scarfed down the whole pancake in probably less than a minute. Slapped!!

The burrito was large and hearty and I’m looking forward to coming back. Total meal with $25 for both items. Best breakfast I’ve had in a while.

Alexanders coveted ” Best Breakfast Tacoma” & surrounding areas ! 7 weeks of searching and Mannys get me back tome and time again !!! Why ? , ok, good question — Brett is an in house owner overseeing his restaurant operation. He cares , yet there is one drawback , his napkin rolls ( utensils inside ) are rolled so tight even Houdini can’t get in or break the silverware out …The Epicenter here is the Kitchen, I apologize if my memory doesn’t serve me / please correct me / Sanchez I believe his name is makes the best breakfast plate I have had since the Graeagle Restaurant ( Northern Calif ) from the 1970’s. PURE consistency , perfect fried eggs , best plateful of hash browns and maple/ seasoned bacon from another World , now add O.J. , a hot chocolate w/ whipped cream & sourdough buttered toast to dip and you have a meal to savor ! They draw a loyal returning crowd , this I have witnessed , the personable, efficient, fun staff add another perk !!! No they are not local- local for I live over on West End, yet I will gladly pass by four other restaurants to make my sojourn here at Mannys . Thanks everyone , your operation is a Symphony in Motion & such an easy decision to make in returning hee as often as possible !!! We are off to New Zealand next week and will see you again late Spring 2026

This used to be the best spot for breakfast! The French toast is sooooooo good, but… it’s a bit spendy. However, they changed the suppliers recently and what used to be the best chicken fried steak is no more than mediocre at best. That’s why I’m rating 4 stars instead of five

Food was good. Coffee was great. Service very good.
The problem is the noise level. The decibel meter was pushing 90 plus. I had to run out to the car for earplugs. There is nothing in the restaurant to dampen sound. It was mostly customer chatter. That causes everyone to talk EVEN LOUDER, to be heard. Consider some acoustical tiles or panels.
The above problem caused me to eat too fast and to get away from the piercing levels. Maybe that’s engineered to get folks in and out quickly.

We were pleasantly surprised by our breakfast choices this morning of Chicken Fried Steak and French Toast. My hubby is something of a Chicken Fried Steak snob ( so very picky) and was absolutely stunned at how delicious it was. Nice crispy perfectly seasoned chicken-flavored patties with very flavorful sausage gravy. I had a bite and I found it to be awesome as well!!! French Toast had a nice eggy batter and an unusual milky caramel-like sauce ( may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I liked it. You can opt for regular syrup ). Overall, very scrumptious meals.

I stopped by on Sunday morning and had a nice meal. The food was delicious and well-prepared, though the service was a bit slow. It took some time for my order to be taken and for the food to arrive, but the friendly atmosphere made the wait more enjoyable. Overall, it was a good experience, and I’d love to come back again!

My boyfriend and I tried this spot after searching for a good breakfast spot. The service was great and the atmosphere was very chill. It seems like this place is a big hit with the locals. The country fried steak with the chorizo gravy was probably the best I have had in a while!
