Solid burger joint! Went for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn’t busy at all. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and our food was ready in good time. Big windows and great commom green area outside provide great atmosphere and people watching whether you’re eating inside or outside. They have other items that aren’t on their online menu, so be sure to check the board and ask about specials!
Ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and chicken philly, both with fries, and vanilla and strawberry shakes. Burger and cheesesteak were great, and good quality chicken in the philly. Fries were great, too. Shakes were okay, but not super flavorful, and the chocolate and strawberry are just syrup flavors.

The burgers and Philly cheesesteak were amazing!!! Tator-tots & Fries were cooked to perfection! Both of my kids gave it two we will be back when we are in the area. Service was quick and the lady working was extremely friendly & helpful.

I am on the hunt for the best hamburger in Alabama. I had heard good things about this restaurant, so I gave it a shot. I ordered a hamburger with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and the House sauce. The hamburger was smaller than expected. While the ground beef was very good quality, they were not as liberal with the serving as they are at J & J Grocery. And the cost was a more hefty Vestavia Hills price. All ingredients were fresh. The bun was toasted, just like I like it. The store was a ghost town, but it was only 5:30 PM on Thursday.

I love the standard. Foods great, service is great, fries are ALWAYS hot and crispy. Me and my friends hang out at the city center a lot and sometimes we will go here and just order fries because they are cheap, great, and there is a lot of fries per container. I also love their sandwiches. The standard is also always the perfect temperature to cool off.

The burger is a solid 8/10. Everything goes together well. But, the fries and tots are really bland. They offer bargain brand ketchup and condiments at a self serve, so you can’t even save them with those. Pretty expensive, considering. Also no fountain drinks or sweet tea, just cans. Friday night at 6p and is a ghost town compared to next door.

I got the patty melt and take this with a grain of salt because I can’t remember if it said it or not, but I got onions on my melt and it didn’t say it came with it, not really a complaint cuz I can’t just take em off but yea.
Food was alright but for 3 people, it ain’t worth no $53. Staff was 2 people but they got our orders quick.

I ordered a hot dog today. the total cost for one hot dog, an order of fries, and a Dr. Pepper at The Standard. The total for the order was just over $10.00. For that cost, I expected a great hot dog and a good order of fries.
Sadly, the hot dog was perhaps the worst hot dog I’ve ever eaten. I couldn’t finish even half of the hot dog. It takes a lot of effort to ruin a hot dog. They succeeded. The fries tasted like bad frozen fries. I could only eat a few of them. The Dr. Pepper was in a can. They couldn’t mess that up.
If you are considering eating there, my advice is to look somewhere else. It’s not worth your money or time.
