Went to Thai boat based on reviews but food was terrible. Ordered 4 dishes, none was good. The place is more like a take out spot. You selfservice. Very bland, meat was just boiled and added to the food, not even enough salt to say the least. To make things worse the seafood on red and green curry was gone bad. We almost threw up trying a piece of Calamari…which was gone bad. Tried to inform so to a worker but not sure whether he understood. They use a kiosk to order food, not sure because food is already paid they care less. Food is simply eewww.

This restaurant is highly recommended! The self-ordering system is super convenient. I really enjoy the Thai-style noodles and the Thai fish fillet—both were delicious. The teriyaki beef rice is also great! Service is excellent too

I have mostly had the tom yum but its kinda hard to go wrong with tom yum so i branched out the other day and got their yellow curry. Very creamy, delicous and wants you to keep eating more. Spice level was great and flavors were very well balanced great thai place here in SLO

Excellent food and service here—top notch! I was saddened to see the microcosm of negative reviews show up near the top here. All employed here seem locked on serving fresh, tasty authentic food.
The kiosk ordering system feels a bit weird, but it does allow you many customization options. Just be aware that it is like a giant iPad; if your wishes are not visible, scroll!
My only suggestion would be to dim the (nicely warm) lights a bit.

You order & pay McDonalds style via a computer screen, food is then brought to your table. Basic decor, had the veggie pad thai, a salad dish that was mainly ground chicken, and soup. Might be the worst Thai food I’ve ever had, looked old, tasted old.

Comfortable, delicious, Thai place that’s a pillar of work lunches and more. Thai Boat has been open for years now and has remained so great the whole time. Flavorful, rich, adjustable spice level dishes, in a quick casual atmosphere. I’ve pretty much gotten the same couple things my whole time visiting so I can’t speak to the fried rices or every noodle dish, but I go out of my way for the yellow curry. Locally owned it can get busy but there’s always been a seat. Probably my favorite Thai option in San Luis Obispo due to it’s lower cost and atmosphere without sacrificing flavor.
Photo shows yellow curry with shrimp. That plus a drink will set you back about 22 bucks.

First off, loved the ordering process with the stand up kiosks. It made it a delight to see all the dishes and choose what we wanted for our meal. We ordered the spicy eggplant and chili shrimp. Delicious. Lots of flavor, tasted super fresh and looked great. Actual service was ok, as we didn’t get much of a greeting or interaction with our server. We’ll be back for a quick, great meal!

I went over with my friends and the food was very delicious. The pad Thai was very delicious with a good atmosphere and the service there was the best. And the waiter, I think his name was John, his serving to us was the best. His serving experience was very good. Without a doubt I would return AGAIN. Thank you -SLO

It’s an order at the kiosk/counter kind of place. Food came out super quick. Friendly staff. Generous portions. Good spice levels. Thai iced tea can help balance the fire.
