Excellent service! Very friendly and considerate. Small menu which I don’t mind at all. There’s no website but people had posted photos of the menu. When viewing, didn’t realize the pizza/sandwiches weren’t available for dinner. The roasted red pepper pasta was AMAZING! The bruscetta was also delicious! I was super excited to try the maritozzo but it was not like Italy’s (have had in Sicily and Rome)- the cream was too heavy and missing the subtle sweetness! The cheesecake was delicious! I’m excited to go back for lunch!

The food and atmosphere are fantastic.

I was nearly brought to tears by my pasta dish.

I’ve been to many upscale Italian restaurants.
This wonderful spot blows all of them out of the water. I’d make it a 6 star review if I could.
Reservation only. But absolutely worth it!!

Absolute gem in the neighborhood of West View, just 10 minutes north of Pittsburgh. Coffee offerings are on point and pastries are made fresh in house daily . Pastas, pizza all delicious and the kitchen executes your meal beautifully.

I am so excited to share my review as it was an extraordinary evening. Two of us were there on Tuesday. Did have a reservation but they do take walk ins. First and foremost, the food (including their housemade deserts) was a hard 10!! We had the mussels and shrimp scampi apps. Seafood was extremely fresh and broth with both were absolutely delicious. Worth asking for more of their homeade bread for dunking! For entrees we had the Pasta Bolognese (which another reviewer said was the best she ever had and we agree) and the Halibut with the most creamy and delicious polenta and green beans. Everything fresh and perfectly cooked. Took home a few deserts and I will tell you the sfogliatelle was the BEST we ever had. Some say the wait is long, but on our Tuesday we were out in an hour 20 minutes. A plus are the wines. Small but nice selection. I actually wanted to go back the next night but will get there again sooner than later

Severina is a small, cozy Italian spot that’s truly a gem! The atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto a tucked-away neighborhood favorite.
The food here is some of the best Italian in Pittsburgh —every dish was cooked to perfection and full of incredible flavor. That being said, be prepared for a wait. It took nearly two hours for our entrées to arrive, so patience is definitely needed. However, once the food arrived, it was well worth it. Each plate was outstanding and left us eager to try more. We highly recommend this spot and absolutely cannot wait to come back!

This place is an absolute gem. You walk in and instantly get that warm, old school Italian American vibe, like the kind of place where Nonna’s in the back making sure everything’s perfect.

The pizza was unreal. The crust wasn’t just cooked right, it was seasoned like it actually had its own personality. Crispy edges, fluffy center, and it held up perfectly under all that cheesy goodness. The cheese blend had depth, creamy, tangy, a little salty, and the seasoning tied it all together so every bite hit you with flavor.

And here’s the kicker: everything is homemade. You can taste the love in it. The desserts? Man… we tried a couple and they were next-level. Fluffy where they should be, rich where you want them to be, and not overly sweet, just balanced, so you actually want that next bite.

This isn’t just dinner, it’s one of those meals you keep thinking about the next day. If you want authentic Italian American food that feels like it came straight out of someone’s family kitchen, this is the spot. This was also just their lunch menu as their dinner menu has different options, so we are excited to come back and try dinner.

We visited a small eatery fairly often, Bella Ria’s, closed now. The food was always excellent! We soon discovered that the chef opened his own restaurant not far from that original location, Severina’s on Center Ave.,West View. With the help of his sons , he has built quite a reputation for himself! What was always a welcoming place to enjoy outdoor eating on their flowered & herb covered veranda has turned into what I consider the best Italian offerings, wine selections & service anywhere! The restaurant offers a very modest breakfast, coffee & pastries. We used to frequent quite often, casual always attentive service. But this year they have ‘upped’ their game! Chef & family have doubled their waitstaff and their popularity has grown… out the door & down the street. Don’t attempt to just drop in anymore without reservations! Simply amazing, relaxed atmosphere…. Don’t be in a rush… this local is to be savored! Hmmmm…

Best authentic Italian food I’ve had since visiting Italy this time last summer. From portion size to freshness to flavors, every course was incredible. The freshly baked bread and HOMEMADE ricotta served with pesto and their own tomato jam was almost too good to be true. My main course was blackened swordfish with risotto and green beans. It was everything I hoped it would be and more, spicy, savory, creamy…outstanding flavor and textures. Although we didn’t have room for dessert, we took some to go. The flourless chocolate torte is sinfully good. I look forward to my next visit. THANK YOU for an incredible dinner.

I used to love this place and recommend it to everyone, but during my last visit, I waited an hour past my reservation time (for someone’s birthday dinner). It was only when my party was back in the car and ready to go somewhere else and I was attempting to cancel the reservation that I was told there was a table available. Whereas most other restaurants I have patronized would have apologized for the inconvenience, there was no acknowledgment by the staff that an hour wait with a reservation was inappropriate, constituted poor customer service, and warranted an apology. They have great food, but I left feeling disrespected and wishing I’d celebrated my family member’s birthday anywhere else. I won’t be recommending this restaurant to anyone again.

4 adults, celebrating a birthday. Food was outstanding. As in, the best Italian I’ve had in this state, and certainly the city. Mussels, shrimp, scallops, swordfish, all done perfectly. One of us had the chicken Parm, and it was also delicious. Every one of us thought we had the best dish, and we were all correct.
Desserts were plentiful, and amazing. The only downside to consuming my fruit tart was it erased the aftertaste of dinner, which I was still enjoying.
Decent, well-priced wine list.
A good place for a date, but maybe not a quiet romantic one, as it was a bit noisy. An outstanding place for a group of friends or family and a convivial evening of great food.
