I have never seen fish pakora with lots of onions and pepper. Second item chili chicken was too sweet with wrong box packing. We order raita and they were giving us lassi instead. When I called back about their fish instead of apologizing she said we have full BABE DI KIRPA and I told her the way your service and food quality, Babe Di Kirpa would not last long.

Amazing food and Indian Grocery store! Incredible selection of herbs, spices with too much to choose from. I would definitely come here for ghee and time to browse around. I have eaten here many times and enjoyed every bite of food I’ve been blessed to consume

The restaurant was empty when we went, everything was very clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All the food was freshly prepared and so very tasty. For everything that we ordered the price was not bad and the portions were huge.

Went for dinner on a Thursday. We got the 14.99 deal for a non vegetarian complete dinner (they have several dishes/options). In my opinion the food was not amazing but it was good. Good enough for the price and descent portions served. They also offer buffet until 3pm but we missed that. Apparently on Saturday’s they have champagne offers, they serve beer as well. I’m not an expert in this type of food, so at the same time I was just comparing it to Punjab Palace in riverside (Chicago avenue). Based on that, I give the food 4 stars instead of 5. I liked the place though, pretty clean and nice looking.

The food is simply incredible.

I had the somosas, Tika masala chicken, a lamb dish (that unfortunately I can’t remember the of) and garlic Naan bread.

The Somosas crispy on the outside soft and flaky on the inside. They were delicious try them with some of the sauces they offer. The red sauce is sweet while the green is spicy the white one is made out of yogurt which is my favorite.

The Tika masala we got was made from the oven chicken which was soft and tender. Wonderful flavor I do recommend it please be aware there are bones and sometimes nerves in it. But we were told before hand.

The lamb which was the 4th lamb item on the list was tasty. When you think of lamb sometimes you can get a strong flavor this was very mild and it just fell apart and melted in your mouth.

Now the service wasn’t the best but it wasn’t the worst. They are great but if you want top notch service don’t come they will annoy you. We didn’t mind to sit for a minute and then have to ask for certain things. But if you feel you have to be catered to then just order to go because the food is still great.

Spice Jar: A Tale of Two Worlds – Delicious Food, Bumpy Service

My Spice Jar experience was a curious tale of two halves: foodie paradise on the plate, and a bit of convenience store chaos in the air. Let’s delve into the delicious first.

The Food: Oh, the food! It was a vibrant tapestry of pungent spices and aromatic flavors. The lamb vindaloo (7/10) wrestled with my taste buds, offering a great flavor profile but leaving me yearning for a more intense fire. The chicken tikka masala (8/10), however, hit the spice sweet spot perfectly. Rich tomato gravy hugged tender chicken cubes, each bite an explosion of comfort and warmth.

The goat biryani (9/10) was a revelation. Fluffy rice studded with succulent goat, aromatic spices, and caramelized onions – it was a symphony of textures and tastes. And the samosas (10/10). They were golden titans, crisp and flaky on the outside, bursting with spiced-potato goodness within. A single bite transported me to bustling street markets, a testament to their authenticity.

The chili garlic naan (10/10) deserves a standing ovation. Fluffy, chewy, and infused with the perfect blend of chilies and garlic, it was the ideal dipping companion. Every morsel begged to be scooped up in its warm embrace.

The Service: Now, the service (6/10) was a bit of a bumpy ride. Tucked away in the convenience store side with the main restaurant closed, things got a tad hectic. Orders got mixed up, wait times stretched, and the overall ambiance lacked the charm I expected. I give the staff credit for handling the unexpected rush with relative grace, but it took a bit of the shine off the dining experience.

The Verdict: Despite the slight service hiccup, Spice Jar’s food shines brightly. The bold flavors, generous portions, and exquisite textures left me wanting more. If you’re chasing a spice adventure, and don’t mind a touch of quirky ambience, Spice Jar is worth a visit. Just be prepared for a potential convenience store detour!

The curry lentil soup is very tasty but very expensive. The 32oz container is $18.49 after tax… There’s also a small market Their market is excellent. They have everything you need to make a delicious healthy meal. I made curry lentil soup. It was fantastic.

I went to this restaurant today 12/18/25 around 1 pm and i ordered food by calling them and the lady on phone was very rude, she has zero sense of customer service and when i went there for pickup she was even more rude, when i asked her why you’re so rude and she replied i am like that do whatever you want to do. At the end i would say the owner needs to look up the situation and needs to improve this kind of customer service.
