Love this place so much! The chicken chaufa is my favorite dish. Their ceviche is phenomenal. Maura is an amazing chef and her love for food really comes through in all the dishes. Tyrone, Maura’s son and co-owner, is also such a good host. The whole staff, including Katy are amazing. Such a welcoming environment and an amazing experience. 100000/10 recommend

I recently visited a Peruvian restaurant and had an amazing experience. I ordered the ceviche and it was absolutely delicious—fresh, zesty, and full of authentic flavor. To drink, I had chicha morada, a traditional Peruvian beverage made from purple corn, and it was refreshing and perfectly sweet. The combination made for an unforgettable meal. The service was great and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy real Peruvian cuisine!

Service and atmosphere was pretty on point. Flavor and quality of food was decent.

However, being served a quarter of a hard boiled egg and a sliver of olive on the starter of a $38 prefixed menu left something to be desired.

Had Brunch with my family and we enjoyed it very much. The food not only looked nice but was very delicious. Sangria was not included for the bottomless brunch drinks but we were not a fan of the red sangria. Overall, great experience with service and food. Thank you will visit again soon.

Drinks were good and tapas but really only worth it if you come for happy hour or for brunch. Food is decent but service is nice but slow. I would say skip it unless you are meeting people at the bar area.

Maura’s kitchen is a cute bar / restaurant and fun vibes but overall is pricey and has small portion sizes for a Peruvian restaurant. I’d rate it a 3.5 star and willing to give it another shot.

We had good service. We had one waitress who checked on us multiple times and ensured we had everything we needed.

Drinks
Like cranberry mule but no cranberry flavor
Coconut margarita was missing coconut taste
Passion fruit margarita was solid
Sangria was average

Food
Overall feedback was that the food was good but a bit salty. Portion sizes have decreased since the last.time we came. The green sauce was good but we had to ask for multiple times.

Plantains were a highlight. Well cooked and high quality plantain used.

Pernil had a few fatty pieces and not enough rice to balance. It tasted better with the green sauce.

Chaufa were a solid option. Unfortunately it was salty and smaller portion size.

Ahi de pollo – February special. They were good but potato could have been softer and overall chicken came out a bit salty

Major gripes
1) automatic 20% gratuity charge
2) small portion size for prices. I would love to see either portion size to increase or price to go down.
3) passed on the 3.9% credit charge fee on top of meal

Last week, I went to Maura’s Kitchen because I was craving Peruvian Rotisserie chicken. To my surprise, the chicken was bland I am used to having flavorful Peruvian chicken, but I was disappointed. The chaufa rice was very salty. My husband ordered the salmon that he said he liked.

I will not visit this place again. Although our waiter was courteous, the pricey food wasn’t worth it.

Stopped by in August and definitely would return. We weren’t too hungry, so we got drinks and some appetizers. But the entrees that flew by our table were so tempting and smelled amazing! They have lovely outdoor seating that’s perfect for a weekend brunch in the sun. Our waiter Mathew was phenomenal!! Funny, patient and informative. We ordered frozen mango cocktail with empanadas. Great crust and tasty filling. My friend ordered the taco trio with shrimp and I enjoyed that as well. Looking forward to their entrees and more cocktails next time. Thumbs up!

*UPDATE: Last time I visited Maura’s was August 2021, recently in February 2022.

Went to properly have dinner and this is going to be my favorite spot for great Peruvian food. For drinks I had the Spicy Margarita Peru ($11). This was so delicious, I could have had two. Not too sweet and a little spicy. Taste of an alcohol infused fresh squeezed lemonade. Appetizers shared the Camarones a la Piedra ($14) Jumbo Shrimp on yuca and OMG! The bomb. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, the yuca was creamy yet firm with what tasted like anchovies laying on a sweet reduction sauce. Flavor bomb! For entree, I ordered Pollo a La Brasa ($21.99) with charred brussel sprouts a d sweet plantains. The rotisserie was probably the best I’ve ever had. I don’t eat chicken skin and I ate the crispy skin. It was juicy and gently flavored. A beautiful meal from start to finish. And out waiter Kevin was amazing. See you all soon!
