I love the vegetarian fried rice that’s not oily but loaded with good stuff. Pad thai is the best! Crystal boba tea was yummy too!
We were greeted AT THE DOOR by a very enthusiastic Server and almost before we were seated ice water was presented to our table. It was early Sunday afternoon and there was a few other tables of customers. The ambience was welcoming and tables were cleared as soon as vacated. The dining room was clean and the music at a comfortable level. Layla brought us menus and as we asked what came with what, or what was “Shaken Beef,” she was knowledgeable about every dish and it’s ingredients. Layla brought us our choices and we were pleased with the flavors and portions. Our Appetizers came AFTER the entrees were served but was not Layla’s fault since they arrived hot and fresh from the fryer.
When we return we’ll definitely order the Pho which we originally came for but was tempted by too many other menu items! And soon we will try the Korean and Mexican restaurants adjoining Moodles.
I am not from the area and was looking for Vietnamese food. I tend to stay with more traditional places and often don’t like fusion places. So when I saw things like popcorn chicken and french fries on the menu I kinda was hesitant but the photos of the food on here looked great. I have come back 5 times now and tried a large variety of their menu. All of it has been fantastic. The best way I can describe this place is that it is a Vietnamese restaurant with the millennial spin to it.
Beef pho was fantastic. Broth tasted traditional and was delicious. I didn’t need anything more than the lemon and veggies in it. Noodles cooked perfectly, and the meat tasted good. It was a very satisfying bowl. 9/10. Chicken pho was also good. The meat was slices of chicken breast. I prefer dark meat but the meat was still very tender and good. 8.5/10.
Popcorn chicken – 8.5/10. Not quite like the Taiwanese version but this was very Vietnamese flavored inspired. It’s salty, crunchy, and I got a large portion of it.
Shaken Beef w/ Garlic Noodles – 9/10. Meat was tender and taste fantastic. Garlic noodles were so satisfying.
Chinese sausage Fried Rice – 9/10. Chinese sausage is my comfort food and was good with this fried rice dish.
Wonton Noodle soup – 9/10. I am very picky about wonton noodle soup. Most places I’ve been to either don’t get the noodles right or the wonton right. I would have preferred char siu in this dish but otherwise the dish was perfect.
Salt and pepper squid – 8.5/10. Big pieces of squid, nice and salty. Ate the entire plate myself.
Egg roll and spring rolls – 8.5.10 – pretty standard. I absolutely love the carrot and daikon that comes with the egg rolls.
Beef chow fun – 7.5/10 – It was pretty standard. I ordered it for take out. Wasn’t bad at all but I liked the other dishes much more.
Bo ne – 10/10 – on their special menu. Everything on it was fantastic. Beef tender, pate delicious, egg perfect.
Bo kho (beef stew) a 10/10 – My childhood favorite. meat tender. Broth tastes great. You can choose baguette or noodles. Baguette was large and perfectly crispy. On their special menu.
Caramelized pork 9/10 – came with rice and veggies. The meat was very tender. Egg was soft boiled. The broth was a tad sweet for me but the meat was perfectly savory.
Ribeye over fried rice 9/10 – meat was very tender and flavorful. Rice food. A little side of greens would have been perfect.
Overall, I love the different dishes on the menu. There’s still so much more for me to try. I highly recommend this place for Vietnamese food. Also on their special menu.
Highly recommended and SO thankful to have them in our community!!
*My ONLY complaint is that in the spring rolls, I wish they pulled the mint and cilantro leaves off the stems and discarded those prior to rolling the leaves in the rolls. Instead they include the whole sprig, and something about the texture of those is off-putting to me, so I’ve ended up fishing them out both times. Maybe they’ll see this and make that change!*
EAT HERE!
The portions are huge, the broth is rich/savory and the noodles were perfectly soft enough for me to have! Their green Thai tea was also soo good, we’ll definitely be back here again with friends and family! Thanks Moodles! ☺️
