PETER LUGER STEAK HOUSE at Caesars Palace Las Vegas Review
Reviews
To get the best value come during their Lunch Hours from 11:30 to 3:30 to get their Power Lunch for $50 but I recommend upgrading to the steak for $80. If you’re flying solo you can typically find a seat at the bar pretty quickly but if you have a group I’d make a reservation online prior to going. The burger is good but the dry aged steak should be why you’re here. After going here twice I believe the combo to get is Sliced Tomatoes and Onions for your appetizer (add their lugar sauce and eat with your steak), the dry aged steak for your main course, and french fried potatoes for your side. You should also order at least 1 side of bacon for $10 and ask for honey and pepper to add on top. I know you’re thinking why not just get the Bacon as the appetizer, but this simple combo with their house sauce eaten with the steak is an indescribale combination of flavors and textures.
Other than the perfect steak, the bacon/honey/pepper combo was the most unique and flavorful bite. This $90 meal will be an unforgettable dining experience you should try at least once.
Shoutout to Liz who was an awesome bartender-server who went above and beyond in making my dining experience memorable. She’s the best!
Our group started with Luger’s famous sizzling thick cut bacon which was perfectly caramelized, smoky, and rich. Seafood starters included an excellent jumbo lump crab cake with minimal filler and a very impressive jumbo shrimp cocktail.
The highlight of the evening was a steak for eleven that was dry aged in house and carved tableside. The beef was exceptionally tender with deep aged flavor. The signature steak sauce adds a tangy and slightly sweet complement that enhances the natural flavor of the steak.
Sides included German fried potatoes, creamed spinach, sautéed cremini mushrooms, broccoli, and French fried potatoes, all prepared very well and perfect for sharing.
Dessert featured chocolate mousse topped with fresh whipped cream along with well prepared cappuccinos.
Service was professional, confident, and paced perfectly for a multi course fine dining experience. Highly recommended for steak lovers visiting Las Vegas.
Food was delicious! Highly recommend the Rib Steak for Two—it’s ribeye, very flavorful and tender. We’ve tried the Steak for Two (tomahawk) in the past and I personally liked the ribeye better. The Loaded Baked Potato was good—they split it in half so we had our own plate, with big chunks of bacon! For dessert, Brandon brought out two scoops of Raspberry and Mango Sorbet with a candle for us to celebrate, so sweet—also, the sorbet was so good!!
Note: they do take Caesar’s drink vouchers here.
The burger is the main attraction and while the patty itself is excellent well seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor the bun completely lets it down. It is far too big and too dense, which throws off the balance and makes the whole thing eat dry. With a properly sized bun this could be a great burger, but as it stands it feels overrated.
On the positive side, the onion and tomato starter was simple but very well done and paired nicely with the sauce. It was balanced, clean, and probably one of the better parts of the meal. Dessert was also very good rich, satisfying, and the most consistent part of the lunch overall.
Worth trying, especially at the bar, but a few obvious tweaks particularly to the burger would move this from good to genuinely great.
What truly made the experience even better was the customer service. The staff was extremely attentive, very friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish.
Between the incredible food and the top-notch service, it’s easy to see why Peter Luger has such an amazing reputation. I would definitely return and highly recommend it.
The restaurant was not very busy at the time and we were promptly seated shortly after we arrived.
To begin, we ordered cocktails along with a bacon appetizer, which was truly delightful for the main course we opted for a steak for two, which we split in accompanied by German potatoes our server, Lorenzo provide an outstanding service throughout mill enhancing our overall dining experience. I must say the porterhouse steak we enjoyed was one of the best of ever had ,the combination of quality and presentation exceeded our expectation and Lorenzo’s attendance made our visit all that more enjoyable having such a positive experience. I look forward to returning to Peter Luger steakhouse next time I attend a conference in Las Vegas Vegas.
They forgot the creamed spinach (-2 points), but honestly I didn’t miss it enough to stop the flow of the meal.
My strip steak had unreal texture — melted like butter — but flavor-wise it fell a little flat. Was expecting more punch from the cut; seemed like just salt and maybe pepper for seasoning.
Cheesecake from Ferrara’s in NYC was ridiculous, especially with their house-made schlag. Absolute win.
Real MVPs were the servers — total pros, warm, fun, and on it even with a full house.
Bottom line: a couple small misses, but great vibe, great service, great drinks, and I’d absolutely give them another shot.
SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT:
Great service by our servers. Our water was always filled and they checked on us many times. Plenty of indoor seats, though I can see this getting very packed at night time. I recommend making a reservation.
FOOD:
– complimentary bread basket to start: I forget exactly what it was called but their onion bread was delicious
– They serve a boat of their famous sauce that you can eat with bread, steak, and whatever you want to eat it with
For appetizers, we ordered:
– Luger’s Sizzling Bacon: two extra thick pieces with lots of flavor
– Caesar Salad
Main Course:
– I ordered Maine Lobster Roll: generous amount of lobster in freshly buttered bread
– My husband paid the extra $30 for the Prime Dry-Aged steak: the plate comes out sizzling and then they cut it up into pieces at the table. Very juicy!
Sides:
– There are only 2 choices: fries and creamed spinach so we tried both
Dessert was the hot fudge sundae which was delicious but by the end of it all, we were stuffed and couldn’t finish.
OVERALL:
I highly recommend checking out their lunch special. Great price for plenty of food!
