No option lower than 1 star. Truthfully, I give it -2.
Shabby….40-year old decor, crumbling floors, filthy tired carpet. Booths are simply dreadful. Everything is old, worn, and the crumbling floor is going to result in a law suit.
Ordered a large pizza and French Dip sandwich. The pizza……I don’t know who made the decision but the pizza is no longer delicious. The gas station pizza is better quality….crust was awful and tasted almost like it was pre-made and frozen. The sauce is directly from a can – bitter, tasteless, and nasty.
The French Dip was the most ghastly thing I have experienced in a long while. The roll was soggy as if it had been previously frozen and defrosted in a microwave. The “beef” on the “sandwich” looked stringy like pulled pork and did NOT taste like beef…..at all. It was dry and just dreadful. And, the cheese…oh, YUCK!!!!!! This sandwich wasn’t juicy, tasty, or appealing on any level.
I don’t know what happened to this establishment, but the quality of food is repulsive. The interior needs to be updated and made safe. And, that doesn’t mean to repaint everything in the grey-scale that’s plaguing contemporary design. It needs color and attractive appointments.

Not sure what condiment they put on a BLT or it was all in the middle. It was rather dry. French fries were good but because there were so many of us I guess they couldn’t keep him hot

My companion lives locally and suggested Sammy’s as she’s eaten there often. I chose the chef salad which was loaded with ham, turkey and cheese along with olives, grape tomatoes and cucumbers. It was delicious.
My friend had the open face hot roast beef and fries. She was not as delighted.

When it comes to pizza, I am very picky. I’m an Italian who knows what good pizza is, and this place sold themselves as good pizza. I ordered extra extra cheese as I am a cheese guy. The pizza I got was horrible no bubbles in the crust looked like regular cheese way too much sauce and was missing the flavor so obvious cheap ingredients.. Very, very sad lots of old people coming here saving money not spending for quality.. enough said…

Pork chops were okay. Baked potato was very good. Apple sauce was good. Broccoli was very good. Tea was good. Place was clean. Bartender was good. Patrons at the bar were good. My cheese pizza to go was really not that great.

Fantastic killer cheesesteak delicious soup, best chicken corn I ever had and best grilled cheese ever . These guys are killing it!!!! First time back in town in years, some of best food I’ve ever had.

This is what my grandmother would refer to as a “beer garden” it’s prolly been here since the 50’s and it shows.
We stopped in for lunch and the food was awesome. The prices are low for the area. While older, it is clean and the folks are very friendly.
If your in the area, definitely stop.
