Lots of cow art. Big wood stacks for the wood burning stove. Ordered burgers medium, warm pink. Only one was a little more pinker than the others. Delicious burgers. Hot and crispy fries and truffle fries. Just disappointed no longer have the country burger with goat cheese.

Charred Food is one of those underrated gems you’re so glad you stumbled across. The moment you walk in, the space feels open, casual, and comfortable — perfect for a quick lunch or an easy dinner spot. You order right at the counter when you come in, almost like a fast-food setup, but don’t let that fool you… the food quality is far from fast food.
My burger came out surprisingly fast, but still had that incredible smoky, char-grilled flavor that makes Charred stand out from other burger places. The fries were perfectly crispy, and the Brussels sprouts were honestly a highlight — so flavorful and cooked just right.
If you’re craving a solid burger with great sides in a relaxed setting, Charred is definitely worth a stop. An underrated Herndon spot that deserves a lot more love!

First time at Charred, and I ordered the Roadhouse burger. The menu says it comes with cheese but they forgot to put it on my burger. Other than that it was good . Ordered the Cajun fries and they were not bad but a little salty for my taste. I liked that you get a free drink if you order fries. Overall I think it was a good experience.

I can not stop talking about this restaurant. The food is made FRESH and you can taste the difference that makes! The owner is always working and is so so kind! The flavor and complexity you get out of a truly good home-cooked Burger is what this place offers. I am shocked this place doesn’t have a line out its doors!

Absolutely amazing experience! The halal burger here is next level — juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite tastes fresh and full of quality ingredients. The customer service was just as impressive — super friendly, welcoming, and fast! You can really tell they care about their customers. The prices are also great for the quality you get. Definitely one of the best halal burger spots I’ve ever tried. Highly recommended!

I had the Cowboy Brisket Burger at Charred and it was absolutely phenomenal. The burger was stacked high with juicy brisket, perfectly cooked beef patty, melty cheese, fresh veggies, and topped off with a fried egg that tied everything together beautifully. Every bite was smoky, savory, and full of flavor — easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and the perfect sidekick to the meal.
On top of the amazing food, the staff at Charred were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. You can tell they really care about their customers.

We ordered the the cowboy brisket , the mushroom bleu, the jalapeno jack, the roadhouse , Cajun fried, hand cut fried and parm truffle fries and they nailed everyone of them.
The meat was succulent and juicy but not too drippy that it would flood the burger. Just the right balance. Very well seasoned.
The owner is super super nice and the whole atmosphere is very inviting.
I went there with my family and definitely going there again.

Quick dinner before an escape room and was pleasantly surprised. We split an order of fries and Brussels. My daughter got a cheeseburger with bacon, pickles, and onion added. It was awesome. I got the burger with jalapeños and pepper jack cheese it was very good.
The Brussels are delicious. No really. Order them and thank the staff. The real wood fired grill adds a delicious grill flavor to their patties. The toppings are plentiful and fresh.
Staff was very friendly and talkative, they had a sense of pride working there which does not seem to exist at other restaurants. Got a sample of their house jerky as well which was delicious (good spiciness)
Definitely coming back, my daughter is already asking for another trip to charred.

I did not even get to try the food. The system they have in place is mismanaged. They ask for name but make no call outs. There are nunber placards but they dont appear on a receipt or anything you get. Then we were skipped over in the queue multiple times. People were coming in after us and getting food before us, even when our order was smaller. The total wait time we spent in the resteraunt after wording was 40 minutes. At that point we decided to cut our losses. Also, it was going to cost over 40 bucks for two burgers and 2 drinks with a side of fries. At that price point this should be better managed. They did give a full refund when asked which we are appreciative of. I would maybe try again when it is slower to hopefully try the food but until then this is the best score I can give.
