Not too many appetizers, which is – it lets you truly enjoy the variety of nigiri.
Open for brunch and lunch – a perfect spot to come at midday for sushi and delicious green tea.
My absolute favorites are fatty tuna, bluefin tuna with caviar. The snow crab soup with yuzu is also delicious, with a beautiful balance of sweet and tangy flavors.
The lunch set comes with five appetizers and nine pieces of sushi, which is a very solid deal for the price. The fish was extremely fresh, and every course had a clean, elegant presentation. I also ordered the sake pairing, and I’d say it was definitely worth it—well matched, generous, and not overpriced.
Service was excellent. Unlike larger omakase restaurants in the Bay Area where you sometimes feel rushed, everything here was paced thoughtfully. Chef Li personally served each piece and explained the ingredients and preparation in detail, which made the meal feel much more personal.
Overall, I had a great omakase experience here and would definitely recommend it.
What made the night even better was the chef. He wasn’t just skilled — he was really funny and made the whole experience more relaxed and enjoyable. His jokes, stories, and interactions added a personal touch that you don’t get at many omakase places. You can tell he loves what he’s doing.
Service was warm and attentive, and the pacing of the meal was just right. For the price, this was absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be back and will recommend Iki Omakase to friends!
Chef Li is amazing at what he does and adds a fun touch with his great sense of humor and clear love for sushi. Every dish shows off his skill and creativity, giving a fresh take on classic sushi that’s both exciting and really tasty. My favorite was the Toro with Caviar and crispy seaweed – an awesome mix of flavors and textures.
The drinks menu is impressive, with a great variety of beers, non-alcoholic drinks, special sakes, and flavored sakes. Sunny, the manager, very knowledgeable and patiently helped us pick from the different sakes, which went perfectly with our food. We tried four kinds, from sweet to dry, and each one added something special to our meal.
Even though the place just opened and the staff are still getting the hang of things, the service is amazing. They really make sure you feel taken care of and important, paying attention to what you need before you even ask.
At $175 per person, Iki Omakase is an amazing deal for this kind of quality in the Bay Area, where you might pay over $250 elsewhere. It’s hard to find such an incredible meal and service at this price.
Chef Li and his team have made something amazing, and I highly recommend it. Whether you love sushi or just want a memorable meal, you have to check out Iki Omakase.
The food is on the heavier-taste/rich side among other Japanese Omakase style experiences. With that being said, even though I usually have a lighter taste palette, the dishes were within my acceptable range of saltiness. I would say most western-trained foodies will find them right at home with most of the dishes like some of my friends did tonight.
The fish is fresh, rice can be better and chef told us he is still experimenting. The homemade ginger wasn’t ready yet and I can’t wait to try it. The saurce is on point, with solid dishes throughout the course. The aged Bluefin is definitely my favorite and I ordered extra.
Their sake list is exceptional, one of the best in the Bay. Wide range of selections and the price ain’t too steep(relatively speaking).
Service is good can be better, soft opening I suppose. I also like the more casual vibe from the staff members, definitely helps relaxing.
Overall happy experience, will be back.
I uploaded photos for the non-sushi part. There are also 10 sushi pieces for which I didn’t upload any photos.
Iki omakase is an up and coming omakase restaurant that provides beautifully presented dishes. You are sat at the counter and are able to see the chef prepare each dish, so it feels of a more intimate dining experience.
All of the fish is flown from Japan and Korea and is delightfully fresh.
I love the diversity of it and I love the sea urchin, caviar, various fish, shrimp, combination of food and ways of cook, nice chef, all feel so good!!
Only tiny thing is that I’d prefer a darker environment – we tried the 5pm one and it’s all bright from beginning to end, both outside and inside light are so bright. It feels too early to drink so I ordered tea : )
The preliminary courses were a showcase of culinary artistry, featuring creative and delicious preparations built around peak-season ingredients, such as matsutake mushrooms and shioko. The level of care, thoughtfulness, and high-quality presentation was evident in every plate served prior to the sushi progression.
Personally, the breadth of white fish sushi was a highlight, allowing the chef to expertly demonstrate varied techniques in preparation and seasoning across an array of species I had not previously encountered. The progression culminated perfectly with the rich pairing of toro and fresh uni , providing a magnificent final course.
What elevated this dinner above others, however, was the unparalleled hospitality. In an industry where we have as Chinese customers, regrettably, felt like secondary patrons at other high-end Japanese establishments, we were welcomed and treated as esteemed guests. This level of service, combined with one of the best omakase selections we have experienced, made the evening an absolute pleasure.
