I had a chopped beef sandwich that was 8.00 and it was the smallest $8.00 sandwich i have ever seen. The management really should upgrade to the larger hamburger bun atleast. I want to support local businesses but this portion size is ridiculous. I could get 4 sausage biscuits at a fast food joint for 8.00.

Excellent beef brisket plate. It was tender and had a 1/4″ smoke ring. The BBQ beans were delicious with a little smoke flavor. The coleslaw was fresh with a good combination of sweet, vinegar, and creaminess. I’ll definitely return!

Delicious smoked meats and barbecue. Plates, sandwiches, poboys, burgers and more available for lunch and dinner. Sides include potato salad, Cole slaw, baked beans and chips and fountain drinks. Everyone was very friendly and hospitable.I got the sliced beef poboy and it was delicious!

I had an absolutely appalling experience at Hickory Stick, 4448 Youree Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. My order was completely wrong, I was overcharged, and not once did anyone offer an apology. The manager, Scott, who took my order over the phone, refused to address the issue until I had an employee intervene on my behalf. This happened around 12:10 PM during lunch—a busy time, yet I was left waiting over 40 minutes in the drive-thru because of his mistakes.
When Scott finally came out, instead of taking responsibility, he had the audacity to act upset with me for still being there. His rude, dismissive, and disrespectful behavior is utterly unacceptable for any manager and reflects a complete lack of professionalism and customer care.
This was my first time at this restaurant and it will absolutely be my last. I cannot, in good conscience, support a business that treats customers this poorly. I want to warn others—be extremely cautious if you choose to dine here. I am only able to leave one star, but I would gladly leave none.

Overpriced and underwhelming.
Service was okay.
I ordered a two meat plate and it was absolutely ridiculous for $20.50 . They gave me ONLY three very small ribs(not tender) and deli sliced beef. The bbq sauce tastes like ketchup/vinegar. The beans and potato salad servings were small. Potato salad is OVERLY sweet and inedible. Beans have ground meat in them, but they’re not too bad.
I absolutely will not be back here. I am very disappointed.

I stopped in this place and it was very welcoming, old school cafe style server line. People was awesome, food was great. Can get busy during lunch time. I have no complaints.

This place has decent barbecue. The ribs brisket or pulled pork are always great. On occasion when we go through drive through I’ll order a hamburger and they have one of the better burgers in town. I’m a mixer when it comes to my barbecue sides. And their coleslaw and baked beans are absolutely amazing together. If in the mood for barbecue you should stop in here.

Local favorite. But..(and I know there will be objections) I’m not a big fan. Two people with normal two meat plates and tea just cost me over $40. They’ve been named the best in state or something of the sort before. I really didn’t like most of my items. The potato salad had a good flavor but the riced potatoes were not my thing. While the chopped beef sandwich and beans were delicious, the turkey was unremarkable. Stars given for the chopped beef, beans ad sweet tea.
