El Jefe’s Taqueria – Boston University in Boston serves up some great Tacos. They also offer Burritos, Bowls, and more, including breakfast options. With about ten proteins from which to choose, I suddenly found myself having to make an important decision. So I settled on three tacos with three different proteins. Service was friendly and fast. The tacos were mighty fine. They also have a wide variety of sauces available. Conveniently close to events held at Agganis Arena. Very much recommended.

Just ate the combo set and it was so so good. Fully loaded, spicy, so many toppings options. The churro was the best I’ve ever had. The Jamaican tea was perfection. I’ll be dreaming about this meal until next time. I feel like anything from here would be good and I love the el jefes spicy sauce it’s actually so spicy.

El Jefe’s Taqueria is a quick service Mexican restaurant open late near the BU campus, perfect for getting a late night meal.

The staff are friendly, make the food quite quick no matter what time it is, as well as being able to adapt given the large number of ingredients they juggle. I haven’t had a bad experience with them at all.

The food is good. For the price, the portions are a decent size and quantity. I usually get nachos here whenever I am craving it, and the cheese is pretty good. Isn’t too stringy, but doesn’t solidify and harden quick. They allow you to choose toppings for it as well, which allows for more variety whenever needed.

The food is really tasty and fresh. The price is student friendly. You can add any hot sauce from the hot sauce station. They play good music and the ambience is great.

As you will see from the attached photos what I paid for and what I got were not the same. The food was also not even warm, again some parts cold.

I paid for a double portion for my chicken bowl, I did not get that. It had sour cream instead of guacamole. The meat was also pretty tough, and the rice should have been white not Mexican in the bowl.

I paid for 3 tacos and there was like 5 pieces of cubed chicken sprinkled in one taco and the other two tacos barely had any. The chicken that was in the tacos was dried out, and the mango salsa and other things I requested were barely present.
My plantains were burnt, to the point where the color changed to black and parts were inedible and too tough to chew.

My drink was like it was the actual drink on the bottom and water poured on top to help dilute it, and no, there was no ice present in the drink.

The chips and guacamole I got the chips were oddly cold, but tasted okay, and the guacamole was weirdly peppered.

I am also having some weird reaction where I am now wheezing and need to take an antihistamine when nothing in the ingredients should be causing this sort of reaction. I don’t know why this happened, but this should have not happened.

This is not okay. I will be disputing the charges with my bank to be refunded, and have contacted Door Dash, who only offered me $26 of a refund for a $49 order. I also contacted the business directly via email. Save your money, and head elsewhere.

Great spot to grab food before a show at the paradise. The menu has quite a bit of great options, but I really liked the tacos. The tacos had plenty of meat in them. The pricing was pretty fair too. Dine in or take out, you cant go wrong.

This was my first visit. I think it’s pronounced El Jefes.
This is one of their locations on Commonwealth Ave in Boston, Massachusetts. It’s on the campus at the Boston University.

The food was very good in the service was excellent. You’ll know the photos that I posted. The atmosphere is very clean and relaxing. Music is being played and has an open kitchen concept and you can see that it is well maintained.

One of the most important things in a public service establishment is the bathroom. I always give high marks If the bathroom is nice and clean and that was the case here. They had paper towels available and an air hand dryer. The fixtures were very well kept. It made for a comfortable experience.

The staff of course is very important and these people operating the business where well-mannered and polite. I enjoyed my time and the experience there and the price was very reasonable, especially for an establishment in Boston, one of the largest cities in the northeast. Enjoy your visit. I think you’ll love it!

Churros were great, but was delivered a bowl with no meat despite ordering carnitas. pretty lame. had they been out replacing with a similar protein would’ve been much better.
