Unique Mexican food. The showstopper is the open-faced steak burrito, but I’ve liked most things here. Got shrimp tacos and the Mexican corn appetizer today.

Now that it is starting to get fresh outside, we wanted to look for a place with a patio, and we were around this place. It has such a nice patio with great views of the mountains and 9th Street. The chicken empanizado was so delicious, and the taste of the chicken was astonishing. The shrimp tacos were so good, and the shrimp were big. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu.

Amazing Mexican food. This is not your average meal. So many flavors and dishes. Enjoyed everything from the guacamole and the carne asada tacos. Wow, go try it out. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back to try more dishes.

Went here for my birthday on Jan 24, 2026. Host had us wait 5 minutes for a table to be “cleared” meanwhile there were at least 7 open tables we could have fit at, and it was a Saturday night, so you think it’d be fully staffed to have all tables sat?
We asked for an order of queso, and we asked the server if it would automatically come with chips and salsa (as typically every mexican restaurant gives complimentary chips and salsa). The server confirmed it would come with. It did not. So then we spent $15 ordering a side of chips and salsa (insane price for chips/salsa). However, the most annoying part was that we were a three top, two of the meals came out, the third (mine) did not. I waited patiently for about 30 minutes until I finally asked where my quesadilla was (as the server never checked in on how our food was) and the server looked really shocked like she didn’t know I ordered it. I said “nevermind” at this point as everyone else at the table was done eating and I wasn’t going to eat alone on my birthday. She didn’t seem to care, didn’t offer any sort of discount. It’s one thing to forget someone’s food, but to be out for the special occasion of my own birthday dinner and not get a birthday dinner was wild. And she must’ve known it was my birthday, as she checked my ID when I ordered the low-quality margarita they have….. or was she not really “checking” my ID?
Bummer. Never going here again.

Fun little spot on 9th with some unique Mexican dishes! When we went, they were understaffed, which made for a longer wait for our food, but it was alright. The food was pretty good! I wouldn’t say I was wowed by the dishes we had though. The quesadilla was too cheesy, but decent, and the chilaquiles were good! The watermelon salad was nice and refreshing. May be worth going back—we’ll see. It is a really good spot for patio dining when it’s warm out!

Good atmosphere and overall experience but we thought that this restaurant tried to create too much of an elevated cuisine from pretty popular dishes. E.g: burrito was open with meat laid on chips with the tortilla at the bottom and a side of rice-not what I expected from a burrito. If the goal is to create a more elevated menu I think it needs to reflect that in the dishes instead of maybe “re-inventing” a burrito.

We went to Lola today and were served by Merguin (hope I got this spelled correctly). He was amazing, kind and even asked the Chef if he could make us the open burrito which is no longer on the menu. As always, it was delicious and worth every penny. Please, for everyone’s sake…bring it back to the menu, we need it, everyone needs a taste of it.
We will have to adventure out and try other things on the menu but the open burrito is why we go to Lola’s.
Thank you for always having the most delicious food, the nicest servers. Love it!

Most people ate out and it makes sense, the food is delightful, their hot sauce was perfect flavor and spicy. We ordered asada tacos and quesadilla, and for desert, we ordered the chocolate cake with orange flavoring. Had a really nice orange scent to it

Lola Mexican Restaurant seriously hit the spot. The carne asada burrito was excellent — tender, well-seasoned meat, fresh ingredients, and a generous portion that actually fills you up. Nothing dry, nothing bland, just really well done.
And don’t skip dessert. The churros were warm, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and just the right amount of sweet. Perfect way to end the meal.

Great ambience and great service. The drinks were also great, as was the salsa they brought out. What may have felt a bit lacking was my main, which was the shrimp tacos. While the shrimp itself was was made and really good quality, there was little in that dish that made me feel like it was an authentic Mexican flavor profile. And to be honest, I’m not even sure the flavor and ingredients worked all that well together. It consisted of 4 shrimp on a corn taco, with an artichoke heart in the center, all covered with grated cheese. How nice would it have been it they had a nice salsa on there, or even it they had melted the cheese a bit. Again, great ingredients and just fell short on the execution.
My colleagues good also looked good, and had a mix of strong potential but slightly off on execution.
I would go back here to give them another try, especially because of how great the ambiance and service were.
Thank you for hosting us, and I look forward to joining you another time.
