Nice spot for your seoullongtang needs!

I’ve ordered #2 and #4. Beer and soju prices are also probably the most reasonable in the area.

Sides were good. Actual entrees I thought were on the smaller portion side. Flavors were good.

Sunny was very friendly and attentive as our server!

Parking can be tough during peak hours.

To be honest, the ambiance is quite nice and cozy. The issue is that I found the food’s flavor rather average, and the prices a bit steep. We ordered a hot pot for $69.90, but it was filled entirely with udon noodles and bitter beef tripe…

The fried rice was okay, but way overpriced at $29.90. The prices are seriously higher than other Korean restaurants, but I didn’t even feel full. I won’t be coming back—I’m not spending $70 on a bowl of udon noodles.

The food was great but the service was so bad I will never go back. The waitress asked me if I wanted white or brown rice as if it was included in the meal. I told her brown rice. They added $2.18 for the rice to the bill. This is a deceptive practice. Also, the waitress presented the check before I even had the first 10% of my meal. I was gonna order a beer, but because of the way the waitress treated me I decided to not order a beer. Regarding the rice: the manager pointed at a small 4 inch sign claiming the two dollar fee. If you like good korean warm soup, but horrible service come here.

A cozy and affordable Korean restaurant. The food is just okay. Nothing fancy nor exciting. Most of the soups are bland. My favorite is the tonkatsu rice. They are open until 11pm.

I’ve been eating there for many years. It’s because their Gom Tang taste genuinely good consistently.
But yesterday I ordered Galbitang for the first time. The soup came out very salty and tasted very artificial. It looked like they added few row green onion, carrot and row mushroom over MSG Soup.
Galbi meat in the soup looked good at least. So I was try to eat Galbi meat only from the soup, but I consumed some soup too.
It was my late breakfast, then I started to have stomach pain 1 hours later. The pain last till late night and I had diarrheas. I feel the cause of my trouble was too much MSG in the soup. Galbitang was the only food I had that day due to stomach pain, I’m sensitive to MSG. I feel better this Morning now. I was lucky that I did not finished the whole soup yeaterday.
It used to be one of my favorite restaurants for a long time. Did ownership of this business changed…? Their service used be up and down, but food quality and taste has been so consistent. I don’t think I’ll go back to Seoul Gontang any more. Who want to pay to $29.45 to MSG Soup and get stomach pain?

After reading the bad reviews, I thought for a long time about whether I should come here or not. But since it was very late and this was the closest restaurant, I decided to give it a try and have my favorite beef soup.

To my surprise, I really liked everything here. Yes, it was 9 PM, and there was no one in the dining area, but the soup was very, very tasty, and I will definitely come here again. The portion was large, everything was fresh. I really liked it all. Thank you very much.
The second time I came, the dining area was full and very noisy, but that wasn’t a problem for me as I was pregnant and just wanted to enjoy a good meal.
To my surprise, when the bill arrived, the price was different—slightly higher than before. When I asked why, the woman said, ‘Fine, just pay $30,’ for example, giving me a rounded amount.
But after I paid, she demanded a tip. I was shocked by such audacity.

We have been here 3 times and everytime there were a mistake on our final bill.
For the latest visit, we initially received the written bill with correct items but the final bill calculated was incorrect and we got overcharged for what we ordered… unfortunately we were in a rush and only realized that after we got home.
Service was variable as well.
During our last visit, the lady server was very inattentive. We needed to make multiple reminder for the kimchi refill request. We were in a party of 5, wanted to make a request for both sides but she only brought out one and quickly walked away.
Very unpleasant experience and will not return

We came in to pick up a takeout order and were treated very poorly. The staff was dismissive and acted like we were an inconvenience. At one point, the server loudly yelled in Korean and aggressively shook/pushed a cart nearby, which felt unnecessarily hostile and unsafe in a tight space.
We asked to speak with a manager, but were told the manager wasn’t there, and the response was extremely impatient with no attempt to address the issue. I understand restaurants get busy, but basic courtesy is the bare minimum. This was an unacceptable experience and I won’t be returning.

Only noticed afterwards but they overcharged us. We went with 5 people, 3 ordered number 2 (27 dollars) and two ordered number 1 (23 dollars). All of the orders were charged at 27 dollars.

They need to get better waitresses.

A hole in a wall along El Camino, the food is good but the price is a bit on the high side, the people working here are very nice and polite, they have fast service and food comes out nice and hot. I go here from time to time, I always order the gom tang and beef soup, I dump all the bowl of rice in to the hot soup and chow down from there. The banchan side are also delicious especially the green onions and kimchi. I recommend this place during the colder weather but they also have dishes suited for during the warm weather. The BBQ short ribs are also great with a bowl of rice.
