I wish I could rate this place 3.5 stars. I only have one experience to rate so I’m giving benefit of the doubt.

The restaurant was quite empty – it was a Tuesday night. I really wanted a papusa, but it was under appetizers and was $15. I ended up ordering Empanadas Chipinas because it sounded more like a meal, for $15.

I asked the server, Jenny, how you pronounced that. She laughed but said she’d heard it all ways. I asked if I had to specify the type of empanadas, and she looked at the menu and read it right back to me. She was nice but I don’t think she really knew the food.

My first taste of the empanadas was nice – the corn flavour was strong. It was kind of bland though. I ended up adding a couple twists of salt to each one, and then used the hot sauce. There were only 2 hot sauces, though I’ve seen other reviews mention 4 sauces. I ended up preferring the green.

The salad on the side was fresh, if a bit hard to eat. But it was nice with all the deep fried food.

I didn’t like the cutlery. I bent my fork cutting the empanada. I would have liked them to be more sturdy.

Amazing food and kind service. Enjoyed the garnachas, quesadilla, empanadas and quesabirria. It was all delicious. You must check this place out!

The service and food were both excellent! My husband and I were both pleased. The food was all very fresh and tasty! If you like fried ice cream, you’re sure to like the churros and ice cream as well.

The steak burrito is really great. I tried the tacos and those are good too. The service was really good also.

I came alone on a Monday night. The service was painfully slow after being seated. I ordered steak tacos for dinner. The steak on the tacos were delicious but extremely small portions. The rice was undercooked and bland. The black beans were cold and also bland.

I left very unsatisfied and went next door for a sandwich to go.

I was very excited to try this place out based on the reviews. We ordered takeout and it was extremely disappointing. The queso was beyond watery and very overpriced. The rice with my ACP was so salty and the chicken wasn’t cut at all. I was hoping there would be some peppers and onions or any soft of vegetable added, but there wasn’t. I will not be back. The staff was nice over the phone, but not good food in my opinion.

This is our first time eating at this restaurant, and the food was 10/10. The service was also excellent, and the waitress was very friendly. If you’re looking for something authentic and delicious, this is definitely the place.

Best Papusas I’ve had in the United States and I’ve been searching for a while. I grew up in Belize which had amazing Guatemalan Papusas. These are about as close as you can get to the real thing with the curtido and salsa.

Terrific fresh cooked Guatemalan food served in a clean restaurant. 6 TVs, 4 beer taps, ice cream treat cooler, super convenient to RDU and RTP.
