The food was great here. Service was wonderful. Definitely need to visit again. The drinks alone make it worth the trip here!

Best Mexican South of I-20! Food is great, drinks are tasty, staff is friendly. Con: Be prepared to get on the wait list to be seated. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you; this or far from a hole in the wall or sleazy Mexican restaurant. There’s a wrap around patio, flat screens for games and an enjoyable environment inside. Prices are reasonable as well.

I’ve been back about 5 times since the last review and am bumping from 2 to 4 stars. The food has always been good, and the margaritas too, but there is still room for improvement on the ambiance. They really ought to expand w/ a patio on the side.

No ambiance. They need to replace the fluorescent “office” lights with 2200K LED pendants to every table, embrace the large lot they have by expanding seating out to a covered patio on the side, and sell good margaritas by the pitcher. Food is exactly what you would expect. Good salsa and predictable but well executed classics. I think they could earn 4 stars with $10k in electrical improvements. Hopefully they’ll figure that out. 🙂

You’re doing a great job with this place! I also love the prices, their not too high and the food is great. what more could you want? Great service, great food, and it kept my wallet happy ! I am originally from California and come from a Mexican family. When I first heard about El Mexico I was thrilled to try it out. I usually go two times a week with friends and family. However, today on March 12, 2017 I had the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! The waitress was very rude and messed up my order, then told me I was wrong! She treated my friend and I like we were bothering her and she spoke down to us. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered at a Mexican restaurant. I informed the nice manager and suggested she should probably be nicer to customers especially LOYAL CUSTOMERS. I will no longer recommend my friends, family and coworkers to visit this restaurant in fear they will encounter this waitress. FYI this was my second time dealing with her rudeness and I decided I will no longer spend hundreds of dollars a month at this restaurant.

Great food! I have never say down to eat but it is always busy when I’ve stopped to pickup my food. The staff all seems very friendly on the phone and whenI pick up my food. This is my go to food on my way to the starlight drive-in. The super nachos and Mexican street tacos are a great shareable combination!
