We went here for dinner to mainly try out the pop up Lao Deli and it was delicious! From Crispy Rice to the Papaya Salad! Thank you Somsai the owner and his partners for going above and beyond to make sure we were delighted with our food. We also had to try the restaurant’s Siam Tofu and glad we did! Very outstanding. It had a citrus taste to it that made its chefs kiss. There’s a reason why there is no photo of it. We got a bit too excited over their tofu! The only thing I’m picky about is my Thai Tea. I feel like Thai Tea was still watered down a lil even the tea itself without the half and half. Besides that 1000/10.

I absolutely love coming here with my family. The interior design is amazing! The food is always wonderful and my husband and I really enjoy trying their specials. Our favorite is in fall when they have pumpkin curry! Spring time they sometimes have an amazing Buddha garden bowl. We love trying new sushi rolls and we’ll often get several to share. We also get their Thai tea a lot, which is one of our favorites.

Jonathan was an outstanding waiter. Food was delicious especially the drunken noodles.

I recently enjoyed an incredible meal at Chiang Mai Restaurant in Clearwater, where they’ve introduced some new Lao dishes to the menu. I have to say, they were absolutely delightful! Each dish was bursting with authentic flavor—bright, fresh, and full of vibrant vegetables.
The staff went above and beyond to explain the new items, sharing the background of the dishes and a bit about Lao culture and heritage. Their warmth and knowledge really added to the experience, making it not just a meal but a cultural journey.
I was so impressed that I couldn’t wait to share it with others—I invited a group of friends, and we all went back to enjoy this amazing experience together. Everyone loved it just as much as I did!
If you’re looking for authentic Southeast Asian flavors and a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend checking out Chiang Mai Restaurant. It’s truly a gem in Clearwater!

Great variety of traditional and creative dishes. The pumpkin curry is a must try if they have it during your visit. The service is friendly. the atmosphere is inviting and warm. The seating options range from standard table and booth seating to more traditional floor seats, and ornate chairs. If in Downtown Clearwater it is a great place to go to before or after attending a show at the Capital Theater, or the new Baycare Sound.

The only reason I didn’t leave 1 Star is because the server and main guy inside were nice and apologetic, however, everything else was horrible. We went to dinner before a concert on a Saturday night and we decided to eat outside on the patio because inside smelled like mold and mildew. Clearly this restaurant was damaged by the hurricanes and you could still smell the incredible mustiness inside. I ordered the amazing tofu which is one of their specialties and it was so bland and watery. My husband’s dish was the garlic and pepper sauce and we couldn’t even find/taste the pepper in the sauce. The wait for our drinks and our food and then our bill took forever. I had to go inside and track sometime down to ask for my check and pay because the server could not keep up with the amount of business. He kept forgetting our check. By the time we left the place was packed and several people at tables around us were getting upset for the wait as well. I will not go to this restaurant again. I’m not sure how they have passed inspections inside with that moldy smell. I don’t usually like to leave bad reviews but this dining experiences was one of the worst I had in a very long time. The saving grace was that we got to eat on the patio out front and the server was nice about everything.

Don’t bother. Parking sucks too.
This place smells like an old moldy wooden box. #Allergies
I ordered to go because it was close.
Cost $48 for one enter and curry puffs. I didn’t eat the all Panang curry and ended up throwing the rest away. It was soggy and not good. Who puts green beans in chicken Panang?
I don’t like wasting food!

Check your receipt or credit card statement carefully. An extra $5 was added to my tip even though I tipped 20%.
The service was okay, nothing exceptional. My food was average. My son ordered noodles and found them very bland.
For the price, the food and experience weren’t worth it. I left thinking we wouldn’t return, but I’m writing this review specifically because I was charged more than I authorized.

Great selection of food and service is top notch in downtown Clearwater. They even have a sugar cane presser making fresh sugar cane drinks, so yummy! Great area to walk around by the water and close to The Sound! Highly recommend!!

The food, drinks, and atmosphere were absolutely amazing! I only wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. If you’re in Clearwater, this spot is a must-visit! I had the Khao Poon, a traditional Laotian rice noodle dish with a rich and flavorful curry broth, and it was incredible. The mango sticky rice was the perfect sweet ending—absolutely delicious!
