This is the best hidden gem that I’ve found in the last 11 years. The food is absolutely incredible. Everything is farm fresh and home cooked. I felt like I was eating a meal at an old friend’s house. The service was excellent too. Our waitress was very friendly without being too involved in our conversation. The portions were positively southern. My wife and I are bringing home two to go containers of dinner and one of dessert. If anyone is within 50 miles of this place the drive is worth it. The cheesy steak sandwich with au ju and she is raving about it. The deep fried pickles are wonderful. It is truly a one of a kind place. One warning, the entrance is hard to see until you are right on top of it so watch closely and drive slow.

My wife and I shared a steak sandwich that was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted—light and crispy without overpowering the steak. The steak was cooked just right, with a hint of pink in the center that kept it tender and flavorful. We also enjoyed the fresh salad bar, which offered a nice variety of tasty pasta salads alongside crisp lettuce. The interior was clean and comfortable, with classic sit-down restaurant decor. Service was attentive throughout, making for a pleasant dining experience.

Food was absolutely amazing. They have homemade hoagie rolls that will definitely make me come back again. My husband got the steak sandwich and he said it would be worth the 1 1/2 hour drive to come back just for that. Would highly recommend!

This is genuinely one of my favourite restaurants I’ve ever been to, service was great, you can tell papa Chubby was very passionate about his food as he talked to us, and the food was outstanding for a very good price and large quantity. I got the chicken sandwich and when they say it’s 1lbs of chicken they mean it!

Yeah, we must have showed up on an off night. Ordered a Ribeye Sandwich and Chicken tenders w/fries. It was more like a Beef Jerky sandwich with extra fat and Chicken tenders from Phoenix. They were so “Dry” I couldn’t finish them. About halfway through the meal I finally got some BBQ sauce, but to little to late. Never got any stake sauce and we had more Flies at our table then a waitress. The two stars is for the salad and soup. “A Hidden Gem” as someone posted, half right, it should’ve stayed hidden! Next time when we go out for dinner, “Subway”. Sorry, didn’t “Papa Chubby” here!

Had the open faced roast beef and it was a plate of disappointment. The “roast beef” looked like hillshire roast beef you buy from the store for sandwiches & was just disgusting. Not even the potatoes could save it. Fried pickles were the only thing half decent. Tried my boyfriends chicken tenders & they had more seasoning then the fried pickles. Service was nice. Food is trash. Won’t be back. Was not worth 70$ spent.

First time coming here and they did not disappoint! I got the jalapeno burger, yummy fries, and the appetizer Mac n cheese (which was a very generous serving); it was all very good!
In case you were wondering, they offer a few different types of fries, but the yummy ones are exactly how they sound, YUMMY! They remind me of British pub fries (kind of thick and crispy).
Oh and they ever have a drive thru! How convenient!

Food isn’t gourmet. Fake Idaho powdered mashed potatoes. Minute rice. All appetizers except chubby sticks are frozen. Prepacked beef, prepackaged beef jus, and gravy are canned. Guy preaches it’s gourmet, and charges you almost 20 bucks for a sandwich entree. Kinda ridiculous for shredded beef on a bun with fake cheese and canned mushrooms. I’ve been back in this kitchen and seen it all and it’s certainly not worth the price. Go buy some prepacked roast beef, a hoagie bun, beef aju, and white American cheese. Give me some real home cooked food none of that stuff is fresh and I can tell before I even take a bite. The name of the restaurant speaks for itself too. Don’t bring your children or elderly here if they’re highly susceptible to foodborne illness because it’s also a biohazard for health code. Take your 20 bucks and feed your family with grocery store ingredients don’t come here unless you got money to blow on premade ingredients being super overpriced. By the way, that 17 dollar sandwich with premade ingredients costs the same as the Italian beef at the woodlands lounge at eagle ridge resort and spa that has sliced prime rib and house made jus for their Italian beef and house roasted peppers. Handmade ingredients, same price, better sandwich, real cheese, and real quality. Don’t spend your money here if you have common sense.

Sandwiches are ENORMOUS! Drinks are generous. Outdoor patio is a real bonus, even on an October evening. Breakfast is a great value, with classic Midwest options. Opens at 6AM. Travis, Papa Chubbies son, is the BEST!
