Delicious food & friendly service.

We got the braised ox tail with beans and rice, and the jerk chicken pasta. Flavor on both dishes was great, and the drinks (sorrel and ginger) were also delicious.

We will definitely be coming back.

We stumbled upon Kingston 7 on opening day while driving through the parking lot on our way to Dollar Tree, and the Jamaica-shaped logo immediately caught my eye. I looked at my husband and said, “OMG, is that a Jamaican restaurant… here in Cherokee County?” We ran our errands and came back for lunch — and I’m so glad we did.

From the moment we walked in, it felt like family. We were greeted with a complimentary sample of sorrel, Jamaican patois coming from the kitchen, and music playing in the background. It felt authentic, like being welcomed into someone’s home.

We ordered curry chicken and oxtail with rice and peas and steamed vegetables. The chicken and oxtail fell off the bone and were packed with flavor — clearly cooked with love for hours. Neither was spicy, and even the steamed vegetables were incredibly well-seasoned (I could eat them every day). The rice and peas were perfect — great texture, a hint of coconut flavor, and an ideal rice-to-bean ratio.

We also tried the beef patties (mild and spicy), and they were the best I’ve had in years — clearly homemade and nothing like the frozen patties we’ve resorted to getting over the years. The mild was truly mild, and the spicy had just enough kick without being overwhelming.

We sampled the jerk chicken as well — definitely spicy, but incredibly flavorful, tender, and well balanced.

Every bite reflected care, culture, and pride. This is comfort food done right. We’ll absolutely be back and can’t wait to work through the rest of the menu.

Highly recommend supporting this new local gem.

Best oxtail we’ve had in the GA! I’m a NY Jamaican that’s lived in ATL for 5 years now and typically don’t order oxtail when out because I’ve been disappointed before. We tried it here along with two beef patties and ginger drinks and were thoroughly satisfied. It was all delicious, pleasant service and fresh ingredients. Can’t wait to return!!

Food was great, definitely hit the spot. We drove about 20 mins to come try the oxtails and jerk chicken and it was worth it. Everything was hot, flavorful and made with love. Staff was so friendly, and the manager even came over to make sure we were enjoying it. Will be my go-to spot when I’m craving some tasty Jamaican food.

Myself and a group of (11) coworkers went in there today to celebrate a birthday. It was the first time for all of us and we all enjoyed it very much! Everything was fresh and their customer service was great. It’s a small place. We were a large group and they had the lunch rush going on so it got a little hectic for a bit. As to be expected and they did a great job trying to keep up with everyone. We will definitely be back. Go check out this new local spot. You’ll be pleasantly surprised!

Update to Owner 01/21/2026: It was Tuesday, January 13, 2026 in the evening around 6:30P. Your gravy should be thick with a Scotch bonnet pepper.

You have a restaurant located where it’s mostly definitely needed, but you have to put your heart and love of cooking in your food. Consistency is the key.
______________________________

Came in last night for the first time ordered curry chicken with rice and peas and it did not taste good at all! There was no gravy only a water sauce. I’ve never had water curry sauce. The curry I’m use to is like a gravy with a scotch bonnet in it for a little kick and actual curry.

The meat was bones, the cabbage tasted like and smelled like dish water! I “SAMPLED” the cabbage, and chicken took one bite and spit it out!

I throw the entire plate away! Waste of money. I asked for rice and peas and got white rice!

This was my first time trying this place. I may try again in six months and get something different! Definitely not the “curry” chicken!

Please see the attached a photo.
