I ordered a $13 chimichanga, and a $6 cheese quesadilla and the price ended up being $34. Turns out they charged me $9 for the cheese quesadilla, $7 for chips and salsa and $3 for a small fountain drink. When we got our food, I said thank you and I got nothing in return. I discovered that instead of my sides being beans and rice like you’d expect at an authentic Mexican restaurant, I got shredded lettuce with sour cream plopped on top. The chimichanga itself was very crispy on the outside and very soft in the middle making it difficult to eat with plastic utensils. I found that the chicken in my chimichanga was dry and didn’t have much flavor. I did notice the overwhelming taste of freezer burn to the point that I couldn’t even finish my meal. The $9 cheese quesadilla was nothing special. For the price of $9 you can go to your local grocery store, buy a pack of cheese and tortillas and make a dozen quesadillas that would’ve tasted the same if not better. Driving past El Mexiquense, I had high hopes. Before going inside, I was scanning the menu on my phone just so I was prepared. As I was walking in I had an empty belly and a smile on my face. After walking out, I had a full belly and a frown on my face. Taco Bell will be getting my money next time. My Irish mother can make a better chimichanga

This is my favorite pastor taco in Saratoga. My wife gets the asada and we love the tortillas, I recommend coming on taco Tuesday for the 5$ tacos. We got our food right after I sat down. I love this place

I don’t know what it is about this El Mexiquense. I’ve been to others and this one is a breed of its own. The food is incredible! Everything is just different at this one. Food feels authentic. The tortillas are insane! The pastor is delicious!

Great food, good atmosphere, kind staff! Our family spent $60 on three adult meals, two kids meals, and 3 beverages (kids meals include drink). My kids loved the burritos and they were huge. My husband cleaned his plate! I love the yummy salsa bar.

We got there and ordered our food. We went with another couple who ordered their food first. Their food came out and they ate their entire meal and ours never showed up. I went to ask to have it as a take out now that it had been 45 min and then we waited another 15 for them to bring me my food in a Togo box. The order was wrong and I wasn’t about to take it back and try to get it fixed. The flan was the only good part of the meal. Won’t be returning.

El Mesiquense makes a great Al Pastor. I have tried the asada and carnitas, which are both good, but not my favorite. But the Al Pastor with pineapple and fresh corn tortilla is amazing. The family deal is the way to go. Get some extra tortillas. The chips and regular salsa are also great. Sometimes the wait can be a bit long — good luck with your timing 🙂 Don’t forget — the Al Pastor is the go-to here!!!

Staff were very friendly. Place was nice and clean. Sadly food was not great. I would not return. The carne asada was over cooked and burnt. The carne asada and chicken tacos did not taste like other Mexican cuisines I have tasted. The meat had an over powering Smokey flavor and really no seasoning. Just overall not my favorite. The horchata was great probably the only thing I would reorder. But I would not recommend this restaurant or return to this restaurant. I would rather go and eat at the fast food chains like Betos and rancheritos I would even prefer nasty Taco Bell over this food.

Went there with my wife they had no wait, the food was fast and hot. We loved there salsas/hot sauces delicious flavors and good spice level. I had a chimichanga which was really good. The lady at the counter was super friendly and my y wife enjoyed her tacos. Will definitely be going back.
