Come here immediately after hiking for the biggest sandwich you can fathom. Extremely well made, family owned, and a relaxing outdoor dining experience. We got there late so there weren’t too many bread choices, but it didn’t matter. If you like a nice lunch sandwiches and a cold drink, this should be your stop after visiting the park.

Eagle’s Lighthouse Cafe is such a special spot! There’s something really unique about it. The setting is beautiful and the outdoor seating is so charming and relaxing.
The coffee was great and I’m already excited about all the variety on the menu to explore on my next visit. I got the breakfast bowl and wow, the portion was super generous! I also couldn’t stop eyeing their pastries. They looked amazing and I’m definitely trying one next time.
The cafe was busy the whole time I was there with a constant flow of people coming in and out, which just shows how popular it is. Can’t wait to go back soon!

Not too many spots open early or have vegetarian options. At least here we were able to get a decent veggie sandwich and hot cocoa for breakfast and portion size was generous too. Our feedback is that it would be great if they could add a toasted sandwich option and an espresso machine but whatever we tried was decent enough .

We stayed in Volcano for two nights while on the Big Island and the first place we ate at was Eagle’s Lighthouse Cafe.
Came at around 9 AM on a Friday and they weren’t busy. The ordering area is very small and only suits a few people so be warned. They do however have a decent amount of tables outside.
The lady who took our order was nice.
I got the Breakfast Croissant with bacon and also got a Cinnamon roll to try out. Overall, everything was great! The sandwich was hot and fresh, and the cinnamon roll was super tasty.
Overall, if you’re in the village of Volcano getting hungry for a quick bite, this place will suit you well! I’ll be back.

This place would be four stars elsewhere, but on Hawaii near Volcanoes National Park it’s a clear five because this is an expensive touristy area with service that is sometimes rushed and impersonal. The young 5’1ish woman behind the counter was exceptionally friendly and kind. The ambiance is casual with outdoor seating under an awning and world maps where you can pin your home location. The food is an excellent value for the area, with generously packed fresh-ingredient sandwiches that are hard to find at this price. The veggies were delicious and high quality, making the fresh veggie sandwich both filling and impressive. The young woman who served me was wonderfully helpful despite the long line, and I hope she’s recognized for being such a great employee.

We spontaneously stopped by for breakfast after we had left the Volcanoes National Park. This cafe is truly unique. It was lovely decorated with christmas ornaments. After washing our hands outside the buildung (they kindly ask you to do that, which is ok) we entered the small cafe and were very friendly welcomed. Our quiche and the bean soup were wonderful. There is a covered patio where you can enjoy your meals. A great and unique place we can highly recommend.

I was on my way to hike at HVNP but was too lazy to make a sandwich. I stopped here and ordered a tuna on cranberry walnut bread to go. What was really great was the way the kind girl tightly wrapped the sandwich in paper and sealed it in a baggy. Perfect to go in my backpack! And wow, it was delicious. Very gourmet. The way the sweet from the cranberry bread complimented the spicy from the radish sprouts was awesome. Also, it was so big, I got two meals out of it. What I liked best was how quickly my meal was freshly made to my order. If you are looking for wholesome food and don’t have a lot of time to wait, I highly recommend Eagles. They had homemade soups and chili that smelled wonderful too!

Very friendly, delicious sandwiches and hot meals. Order at a counter and eat in a casual covered patio. Plenty of free parking. Great lunch stop. Made to order sandwiches. Lots of options of deli meats-great pastrami. We also had tuna on walnut cranberry bread. Delicious! Big portions and a good value for your money.

Friendly staff. Small menu, but something for everyone. Fresh vegs for sandwiches- had the veggie sandwich. Others had the Portuguese bean soup- they said it was so good and the bread bowl was great.
Don’t go to the bathroom until after lunch; it’s not the cleanest bathroom.

Only covered patio seating available at this very small cafe but what it doesn’t have in size it makes up for convenience, quality and reasonable prices for the area. The inside ordering area is very small (hold about four people) so take a look at the outside posted menu and order. We’ve had their breakfast and lunch sandwiches both were prepared well and loaded with meat.
The staff is very efficient with getting your order and preparing your items. However they may lack a little bit of patience if you don’t know what you want.
