vietnamese restaurant in Leeds, highly recommend this food spot …
Reviews
was outstanding and the service was impeccable. On top of this the food was beautiful presented and really tasty. The staff were happy to explain the dishes and answer any questions. The little birthday surprise and the whole restaurant and staff singing happy birthday was brilliant. 20 year old wanted to hide but secretly enjoyed it. Thank you so much we WILL be back.
We came as a walk in and luckily managed to get a space as it was also quite busy for a Sunday lunch time service. The female waitress and manager were very accommodating and friendly to us.
Firstly, the location is great especially on a sunny day that we visited because it’s next to the canals so it’s quite aesthetic, also the interior has many lanterns so it reminds me of back in hoi an.
We ordered a iced coffee which was great and also started with a sharing platter for two, which was surprisingly was well portioned, especially the chunky summer rolls and the skewer and spare ribs were seasoned and cooked well, pairing with 3 respective sauces for each of the starters.
For mains I got a beef bun bo hue for myself and my partner got a beef special pho. The broth was decent but unfortunately lacked depth and I’ve tasted better at other spots and in particular the beef for both our dishes were on a drier, tougher side.
We did however enjoy the beef balls which were bouncy and tasted homemade but I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite bowl of pho I’ve had in recent times, especially with the slightly more dear price point compared to its competitors.
Overall it’s a beautiful place to go to but unfortunately the pho and specifically the meats didn’t hit the spot for me.
The food was absolutely amazing.
BIG thank you to Chi and Gigi for the great customer service…also to the whole kitchen staff.
Beautiful decor
Highly recommend !!!!
We will definitely go back because we want to try everything from the menu
You guys are doing fantastic job xx
We were well looked after by the staff too.
Its a slight walk out of town but totally worth the effort.
Excellent service! Food was absolutely fantastic!
Atmosphere was great.
They also have the option to pre-order the food which we did, which I think is good especially if you’re a large party. But I don’t think it’s the same as perusing the menu in the restaurant.
Highly recommend, I had the chicken skewers for starters and curried chicken fried rice for main, for dessert I shared the banana fritter with my wife.
The depth of flavour to every dish was on another level. Only managed to take one poor photo
I am fairly impressed how they have transformed this place, it feels very authentic with the lanterns and yellow paint.
The wait for the food was a bit long which is understandable as it is their first day so I am fairly confident they are gonna improve their pace. The waitress was very kind and took good care of us, making sure we had everything we need and supplying us with clean napkins and cutlery every time we finished a new meal.
We decided to go for the Hoi An starter which is £10 per person; it came in this big plate with samples of different starters on the menu. It was very delicious and tasted very authentic with the fresh flavours of mint and pickled vegetables. I had to applaud them for the most delicious summer rolls I ever had in a restaurant! Overall the starter was very good but would like a bigger portion as it is quite pricey.
Next, I had ordered a grilled pork with rice noodle salad and Hoi ain chicken with rice. Both meats were cooked to perfection and melted right in your mouth! My only pet peeve was the I would prefer more fish/Vietnamese sauce as I live to drown my noddles in it, but that is just my preference. Overall, the two meals were very delicious with generous amount.
I love that you could see family and friends coming to the grand opening to support the owner, which tells me that lots of love and labour went into this place and Hoiana can count on my patronage.
