It’s been around for 30+ years ? Very authentic Taiwanese food
It’s different from typical Chinese food
The best dish here is their Taiwanese sausages that is made specially by themselves
I also love the popcorn chicken
Can’t go wrong with any of their combo rice fish here
Price is reasonable flavor is consistent
It still taste like it did 30 years ago
The atmosphere is a bit dated but the food makes up for the decor
Service is very fast. The price is not super cheap but it is reasonable. We got 麻辣豆乾 (spicy bean curd), 香腸 (Sinbala sausage), 炸排骨乾麵 (fried pork chop dry noodles), and 扣肉飯 (pork belly rice). The portions are pretty large. The pork chop was dry but crispy, so I have mixed feelings about that one.
They take card if you order more than $30 worth of food. I’d love to come back to try their shaved ice because I hear it’s better than Meet Fresh!
30) Popcorn Chicken was juicy and well fried. Nicely seasoned with flavors all the way to the center of the chicken.
37) Sticky Rice was as expected. Well seasoned and flavored but a bit oily.
Ambience: 5/5 – clean and more spacious than expected.
Service: 5/5 – friendly and quick. You do need to waive them down for anything needed as they don’t check back on the tables
Value for price: 5/5 – good food, quick service, reasonable price
Must stop Taiwanese quick food, if you are in the area. My favorite is the Taiwanese sausage. There is no where else that makes the sausages as good as Sinbala. Beef noodle soup, Pork stew rice noodle, eel rice and the Brown Sugar Shaved Ice are amount our top picks.
Drinks wise, you can’t go wrong with Coffee Jelly milk green tea and boba with brown sugar milk (good for kids, no caffeine).
About 2 to 3 weeks before Chinese New Year, Sinbala makes Red bean Rice Cake that is just amazing.
My latest favorite – Eel Rice Plate
When we walked into La Sin Bala, the cozy environment immediately caught our eye. With limited seating and neatly arranged tables, our anticipation was at its peak as we perused the menu, eager to sample a selection of Taiwanese delicacies.
Our culinary exploration begins with the typical rice, elegantly presented in the style of a traditional Taiwanese bento. Every bite of tender and juicy pork paired with fragrant rice made us feel like we were in a buffet restaurant in Taipei.
Next we had the oyster omelette, a dish that really stole the show. Egg rolls are full of Taiwan’s unique flavor, a famous night market snack, harmoniously blending plump oysters with delicious eggs and indispensable vegetables, a perfect match with aromatic spices. Super authentic! A must order meal that left us wanting more with every bite.
We also indulged in chicken rolls accompanied by dipping sauce and a serving of shiitake mushroom and chicken soup, both delivering simple yet gratifying flavors.
These simple yet satisfying dishes are the perfect end to our culinary journey, leaving us feeling nourished and satisfied.
Of note, the highlight of our experience was undoubtedly the oyster omelette, a dish that encapsulates the essence of Taiwanese cuisine. Its authentic flavors and affordable prices highlight La Sin Bala, making it one of the must-go places for food lovers looking for a taste of Taiwan.
Our favorite:
– Taiwanese Sausage (a la carte or meal)
– Pop Corn Chicken
– Pork Chop rice
– Shaved ice
– Steamed dumpling (15 minutes wait) not as good as DTF but it is good
Most of their food is great.
$20 minimum for credit card purchase
The spicy beef noodle soup was just okay. The broth’s spices were a bit too much for me, and the beef was tough.
I might swing by again for the Taiwanese sausage, but I’ll probably skip the beef noodle soup. There’s plenty of seating and parking available.
