We came down for a rugby game and got hungry! And googled food near me this popped up! It was absolutely amazing from the fresh greens to the cat fish! Chicken was on point as well! One of the best customer service experiences I have in awhile as well. We highly recommend

My first time trying and I don’t recommend!! I got the smothered pork chop dinner. They bake there porkchops then smother them instead of frying them then smothering which I thought that’s how they cooked them. the meat is so thick I can’t even swallow it I called and they told me I had to request for them to be fried instead of baked which should be on a menu for people who hates baked food like me ! Sides are great though

We had a chicken fried steak breakfast and smothered porkchops. The main dishes and the sides were all amazing. Greens, yum. Sweet potatoes, delicious, grits, fire. Do yourself a favor. It might be the greatest hidden gem in Omaha.

I hate that they don’t have a vegetable plate. This food is way too pricey… Too high. If they could advertise more and get more people in there, then maybe they wouldn’t have to charge so much. I would eat there everyday if they weren’t so high. I have a cancer diagnosis and am on disability. I can’t afford it. I only got cabbage, cornbread, yams, and Mac and cheese for $19. No meat No dessert. The food I got reminded me of my Great Grandma. But. I can not afford it at all. I know cheese is expensive but the mac and cheese could use more cheese and less salt. It was so salty. They should try putting a lil muenster cheese and maybe some land o lakes American cheese. Cheese is already salty so you don’t need much salt in your rue. Add a lil veggie plate with 3 veggies and cornbread for $10 or $12. That will increase your sales as well. But, everything else was perfect. I will be back tomorrow for a catfish dinner and that’ll be $25/High I pray that the spaghetti is good and the greens are good. If they are not I will be returning them cause it’s too high to not taste good. I pray that spaghetti sauce got onions and bell pepper and garlic and Italian seasoning. AND, why doesn’t bread roll, or cornbread come with your meal???? I’m from the deep south and we don’t eat any meal without bread so it comes free of charge with every meal. Who eats cabbage and greens without cornbread? Who eats fried chicken meals without a roll? And, who eats a fish plate with out hush puppies? In Omaha I see hush puppies sold as a side. People in Mississippi would be devastated to see hush puppies sold separately as a side Aside from all that THIS IS REAL GOOD SOUL FOOD MISSISSIPPI TENNESSEE ARKANSAS CERTIFIED. YALL CAN COOK UP IN THERE!just get you some cheeses in that Mac. Muenster bhas a good taste and gives you that stringy cheese pull that people♥️

We were visiting Omaha on a whim and looking for a local favorite and boy did we find one! The food was out of this world. We had oxtail and gravy, melt in your mouth ribs, greens, pinto beans, sweet potatoes, and 7-Up cake. Plus, cornbread and rolls. We’ve never had oxtail before and boy was it a treat! And guess who the cook was? Lonnell of course. Lonnell and her husband Greg have been open at the same location for 24 years. They couldn’t have been more welcoming and pleasant. Great folks!! We can’t wait to come back and try other dishes. As Lonnell says, “Let the gravy fly!”
