Walking through the newly upgraded Cambridgeside Galleria, these two immediately stood out. As a local business owner, I pay attention to design, branding, and atmosphere and theirs hits every mark. Clean, premium, welcoming… you can just tell this brand is built to grow across the city.
I’ll keep it real… I didn’t get to try the ice cream because I was rushing to dinner. But trust me, I’m coming back for it. A setup this solid deserves the support.
Make sure you stop by, show love, and give credit where it’s due. Keep going, fellas, y’all are onto something big.

I created my own with a vanilla base, mango, and graham crackers mixed in. Loved that it wasn’t overly sweet, and the flavors worked really well together. Only downside, there was a piece of banana at the end of my cone, which makes me think the swirl machine wasn’t cleaned properly. Also a bit pricey at $9.75 for a regular size in a waffle cone.

Far Out Ice Cream is a newer ice cream spot that has been open for about a year specializing in New Zealand style ice cream. They have a robust display of flavors, as well as mix-ins and toppings that go with the ice cream.
It was our first time trying it, and the staff were very friendly and helpful even though it was close to closing time. They explained how the ice cream is made and the best combinations for each flavor.
We got 2 different ice creams with toppings mixed in, as well as a milkshake. The ice cream looked like soft serve, but wasn’t soft serve. The consistency was pretty smooth and not too sweet, and the mix-ins and toppings went well with the flavors. The milkshake wasn’t too thick or too watery, but had a good flavor. Prices weren’t too high, and they also had premade ice cream pints in a freezer available to buy.
Overall, a great first experience and highly recommended to try.

So they sell “New Zealand style” ice cream where they freshly blend a base ice cream (vanilla or chocolate) with Fruit of your choice, and you can add toppings. They had run out of waffle comes, apparently they also make it there. The line was pretty long when I was there. The ice cream was pretty rich. Had a strong flavor condensed milk. I had vanilla + mango and it was smooth, oddly creamy, and delicious. Would come again for the experience of it and to try different combinations.

The ice cream was great loved the concept & how you get to sort of customize your own. They have good options with the ice cream , went with the dairy free chocolate & pineapple.. was very delicious. They also have their own coffee that you can take home. Overall great alternative to your typical ice cream.

Edit: In response to my original review (below), I was contacted by the owner of Far Out (not just the location I visited). He assured me that our experience was far from what they intend to deliver and that he would take action to ensure that employees were aware that customers had felt the way we did. As a result of the sincere interest in improving customer experience, I am raising my rating by a star and I will give Far Out another try.
Original review: Ice cream was very inconsistent and, when we asked about it, all five of us found the response to be very dismissive, bordering on rude. Won’t be going back.

Stopped in after our volleyball league ended, I ordered the sandworm after my friend recommended it because it was themed after the Dune 2 movie! The combinations are really interesting, they literally mix ice cream with the fruit altogether, I was expecting the fruit to be at the bottom of the cup. We also got another ice cream cup mixed with a bunch of other ingredients and that was really delicious as well. They don’t really give you a lot of ice cream which is good because you don’t really feel like you’re absolutely stuffed afterwards.

There’s nothing special about this place and it costs twice what other places do.
Mixing fresh fruit into ice cream isn’t unique to new Zealand.
Screens to order food that says you must select one / that it’s required — and there’s an upcharge for that required add on — when it’s *not* actually required and just an upsell is entirely unacceptable and unethical.
I ordered mango ice cream. It wasn’t orange colored. Mangoes are orange. It tasted ok but how is there mango if it’s not orange.
Having smaller portions is fine-but it’s not reasonable to charge the same amount of money for half the amount of food. Definitely not good value for money.
Will not return.

Real high quality ice cream with a variety of flavors. The girls that work here are very attentive. Greeted us and offered us help promptly. The place is clean and cozy.
