Another fabulous meal. Food seems to get better over time. Service spot on. We had perfectly cooked halibut and succulent venison, portions were pretty big. Yes, it’s quite expensive but it’s excellent!

4.5 stars overall.
5 stars service. Very friendly service.
4 stars food. amazing starter we shared the Shetland mussels which were the biggest I’d even eaten and the side of bread and butter.
For main we each had the lamb, it was nice but I remember finishing it quickly as the portion wasn’t the biggest. I’ve also had nicer lamb dishes elsewhere.
4 stars for the atmosphere as we were sat at a nice table for 2 at the front window but had to keep our jackets on as we were freezing. There was a heater on but think they need to try make the place a bit warmer in winter.
It is pretty pricey too, so won’t necessarily be back in a hurry.

Absolutely delightful. Location is a quick train ride from the city itself, enjoyed what we ordered, too bad we had to leave early just to catch the train, enjoyed the view while we stroll on the way to the restaurant. Had the Iberico, mussels and the sourdough.

Been there last month, tasty fresh seafood. Didn’t try the steak but I believe the food quality must be really good as well. For dish details, please see every captions of the photo.

A wee point I appreciated a lot was even the hand wash provided in the toilet is made in Scotland with high quality. I do appreciate a restaurant would like help promoting and supporting Scottish products in every small aspects.

We’ve been here several times and the food is always fantastic; perfectly cooked fish, flavours are well balanced and everything is delicious. The tarte tatin is huge and absolutely worth the wait!

Came here for our 31 wedding anniversary, the wife found it online.

Parking is not the easiest outside, we managed to get a place outside a shut down pub. You may have to go round the corner, to find a place.

On entering, to the left are tables on ground floor level and to the right, you go up a number of steps to the tables. So if you are in a wheelchair or have difficulty walking, you can use the seating on the left.

Wife went for a steak and I went for the pork. And without doubt, they were both very good. Full of flavour and portion size was just right. Sides we went for jersey potatoes and asparagus & nuts. Again both were plenty full and tasted really nice. There is enough in both bowls, to share between us.

Had a nice chat with one of the owners and she told us she had been there a number of years (I won’t say how many ).

Would I go again?

Definitely would go again
