Fort Mill Sourdough is a family-run microbakery offering handcrafted sourdough loaves, cookies, focaccia, and treats—all made with organic flour and real ingredients. We bake in small batches using time-honored methods, and our loaves are fermented slowly and baked fresh the morning of pickup. With convenient porch pickup locations across Fort Mill, Tega Cay, Indian Land, Rock Hill, and Lancaster—as well as retail and home delivery options—we make it easy to bring real sourdough home. Born from a personal search for healthier bread, our bakery is built on care, craft, and community.

Today was actually my first time doing the pickup myself in Tega Cay (someone usually grabs it for me), and the process was incredibly simple and seamless. In and out, quick, easy, and well organized.
Supporting a local small business that delivers this level of quality and convenience is a win all around. If you appreciate real sourdough and want something fresh, local, and reliably excellent, this is absolutely worth it.
One of the biggest surprises for me was the sandwich loaf. I didn’t think I’d notice much of a difference, and I definitely didn’t think I could justify paying nearly double what we normally spend on bread— but once you taste it, you can’t experience bread the same way again.
What truly sets Fort Mill Sourdough Co. apart is that this isn’t just bread… it’s an experience. Every flavor has its own personality and purpose. The one that stands out most to me is the black cumin seed. Wow. It’s something everyone needs to experience at least once. The health benefits alone are incredible.
I don’t know how she does it, Marcelle is pure magic. Thank you for bringing Fort Mill Sourdough Co. into our lives and into our community!
I’ve tried several of the breads, along with the dip mix, butter and cookies, and everything has been consistently good. You can tell care goes into what they make.
I also appreciate that the owner values family and wholesome ingredients. It feels good to support a local business like that. I’ll definitely be back.
Pro tip: when she has the s’mores loaf available, BUY IT!!! My family goes crazy for it!!
Not only did I want to take a boule with the Tuscan Dipping Blend, but for Sunday Brunch, the Lemon Blueberry Focaccia sounded divine.
Before I left town last Friday, I picked up my boule and focaccia from the Waterside location and they were STILL warm! My car smelled heavenly, just ike a fresh bakery.
On Friday night, we got into the Black Cumin Seed Boule and the dipping spices. My guests were floored by the freshness, and flavor.
It was devoured not 24 hours later, just in time for us to pop the focaccia in the oven for brunch.
With the glaze on top, my guests were again asking where they could purchase this delectable treat.
I shared the FMSD story with them, and for those who didn’t know how “healthy” sourdough products are compared to traditional bread products, they were astounded.
When I returned from the weekend, I wanted more, and popped in the Speckled Pear on Saturday for the Black Cumin Seed and Cheddar Boule and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
So grateful to live in Fort Mill and have access to this gem of a bakery right here at home.
