This is easily the best bakery I have had so far in the US. I’ve spent time in France, and the croissants here are the closest I’ve ever found to the ones I had in Paris. The layers are incredibly flaky, buttery, and perfectly golden. You can tell they don’t cut corners on the traditional methods. It’s a little slice of France right in Downtown Pittsburgh. A must-visit if you appreciate real patisserie!

This charming pâtisserie offers a delightful selection of freshly made pastries and boulangerie favorites. Every croissant, éclair, and tarte feels crafted with care, and the breads are equally fresh and flavorful. It’s clear that the team truly cares about quality. The service is warm and attentive, with staff who greet you with a smile and genuine friendliness. The only minor inconvenience is that parking outside can be limited, but the experience inside more than makes up for it. Truly, a little slice of Paris in the neighborhood!

Very cute coffee shop and bakery (with WiFi). The pastries were artisan and beautiful. No breakfast sandwiches or traditional meals, but the pastries were great. They do have quiche. Lots of teas and coffees with milk substitutes. Reasonable pricing.I walked, it doesn’t look like there is much street parking.

I had 1x croissant and 1x almond croissant. Both were delicious. I would recommend the almond out of those two.
People from my party got an apricot croissant and ham & cheese croissant, as well as bacon, onion, cheese on focaccia bread (not sure what they called it). Everything was great.
Prices very reasonable. For my two croissants it was just under $7.

What a cool spot! My family loved the pastries we tried from the super flakey chocolate croissant to the amazing texture of the guarmandise and the cheesecake like texture of the cherry dessert my husband got. Plus the man working at the front was so so kind answering our questions about what each item was since they are sophisticated in their names and even gave us recommendations on other spots to check out around town. I want to go back and try their drinks and other goodies.

This is a very interesting Google Contribution. I always say I like to express these in love and light.

The only way I got to eat here was by a generous gift from a woman on the PRT Bus a few days ago. She was very kind and I explained to her if I ever see her again and I have the opportunity I will repay her for the $10 gift card ✅.

The amazing thing is at La Gourmandine, I was able to get a very nice meal and leave a tip for under $10

I will attach photos ASAP ✅
EDIT: Pics attached March 29th ~ TY

What a lovely experience! Came here right as they opened and had an excellent cappuccino with a great, authentic almond croissant! Texture is kinda like a smashed down croissant but truly different and great flavor, definitely a must-try!

I went on a weekday around 3 PM, and it was pretty empty. Their closing time is 5 PM, so it was pretty close to the closing time. The space is large with plenty of seating, however it’s all rather plain looking. But I wasn’t here for the decor, so I didn’t mind. I I ordered the iced latte in a large size and was informed that their iced drinks only comes in a medium size. That was not a problem for me, and the barista was really sweet and nice. The latte was very good. as to the food, there were limited options because I guess they had run out of most of the stuff by 3 PM, and the shelves were also pretty empty. I ordered the almond croissant, which is unlike your typical almond croissant. The croissant was smashed down to give rise to a flat and thin croissant and it was crispy at both the top and bottom. Of course, it was not flaky anymore because it was smashed, but I quite liked the texture. There was your typical almond filling and shaved almonds on top. I suspect that maybe the bottom of the croissant was soaked in syrup because it was pretty sweet, but I can’t be sure. I would probably come back sometime in the morning so that I can try a variety of other pastries that they are known for. Overall, it was a very good experience, but it was definitely nothing out of the world.

Stopped in on a Sunday morning and snagged the last mozzarella pie! The food and pastry were exquisite and just what we needed after a night out. My latte was also delicious. Definitely recommend coming here.
