Oilfield Store is a small cafe housed in a one room school house built in 1866, boasting great hamburgers, other sandwiches, homemade pie and daily specials. Open – Wednesday 11-2, Thursday 11-2, Friday 11-8 and Saturday 11-2. The first oil well was drilled in the late 1800’s in this area. An oil boom during 1900-1930 established the town of Oilfield. Well known people visited and invested in this area during that time. Illinois became a top producer of oil in the nation.

I took a bus load of my residents from an Assisted Living Community in Decatur. We drove 2 hours to get there. The residents are already asking to go back. We were treated like royalty. The food was amazing and the nicest people working and eating there. Thank you for the great hospitality!!

I had a double cheeseburger and fries. I can eat a big meal but that burger was almost more than I could eat! I believe it was stated to be 1/3 pound patties and I believe it! Good food, very friendly service! And the food was ready very quickly!

If you like good food and award winning pie this will be your forever happy place! It is filled with pictures and items showcasing its very interesting history. Martha, the owner , can tell you all about the entire history of this former schoolhouse by heart. Friday evenings she provides all the patriots with live music performed by the local talent, everything from old time rock n roll, to karaoke nights, and she even has a brass band on her roster. No matter when you visit here you will leave here with a full belly, a warm heart and maybe some added knowledge in your brain.
10 stars!!
