Ok, so when you write a closing time would you expect for the store to only be closed at that time, right? I used to work in retail and I understand getting ready to close before you’re actually closed when there are barely any customers, but we never locked the doors UNTIL closing time. It is also because of this that I usually don’t do things like this, but I was very hungry, very tired, and craving Pizza Hut.
I ordered my food at 10:27 pm. It was supposed to be ready by 10:41 pm. Now, I was late and got there at 10:44 but when I walked up the doors were closed, I did see people inside but they did nothing, not even a glance. I looked on the TV through the glass and it had my name there and said “ready” but I wasn’t about to bang on the glass like a mad man so I waited for 3 minutes and turned around. I was hungry and just wanted some pizza. I have had good experiences with them before and the food was amazing, but this is just rude.
That was my first disappointment, so I was like “cool, I didn’t get my food but I should be able to cancel it since they never accepted the transaction.” NOPE, the app isn’t very “cancelation” friendly, and the order hasn’t even shown up in any history (don’t even know if they have a order history), so I submitted an email with their customer support and as of today I have not been contacted for a refund. It’s only $26 but when you pay for a service you would expect to receive the product right? (I even selected a 20% tip to be nice because I knew it was late).
I’m sorry I had to be the one that ordered last minute but when you say you close at 11, I expect to be able to order 30 minutes before closing (when it only takes roughly 15 minutes to make the food) and then you will have plenty of time to finish up cleaning. Very disappointing since I loved their pizza, not happy. If I get my refund then I will probably change my review or leave a comment, we will see.
Update 2/18: they emailed me back… turns out “customer support” was the british customer support… So, i’m just done. I’m not reaching out, i’m not very confrontational and i do not have time for this, so i do not want to call, that’s it.
