We came here to celebrate my birthday and sat at the chef’s counter. We both really liked the ambience and the food was great as well. As far as cocktails, I’d recommend the monarch which is both refreshing and well balanced. For starters, we both enjoyed the carrot soup and for dinner enjoyed the lamb and wagu ribeye for dinner. Well, they didn’t necessarily offer anything special for my birthday outside of the initial champagne , we both shared the lemon merengue dessert which was pretty good. Overall, we most enjoyed chatting with the chefs and the atmosphere.

One of the most recent enjoyable Charleston experiences. We stopped in for a drink before another reservation and the staff were so friendly and the upstairs bar atmosphere so cozy we went back for a nightcap.
We returned not even a week later to try their burger special at the bar not realizing we were outside the allocated time. The chef and staff generously agreed to prepare it for us nonetheless and it was outstanding.
We cannot wait to return for the full experience and will continue singing the praises of Southbound’s food, service and atmosphere!

Celebrated a 21st birthday here. Amazing atmosphere, location, design, everything was amazing. Most accommodating staff, one of my favorite restaurant experiences. I would most definitely come here again but would not order the duck again, it was good but didn’t amaze me. Harley was the best server I’ve ever had. Such a sweet and genuine person, needs more people like her. I recommend to anyone who is looking for an overall great and intimate dining experience. Great restaurant and awesome staff.

5 Stars – A Birthday Celebration to Remember
Southbound delivered an unforgettable first visit for my partner’s birthday. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel special with a champagne greeting that set the tone for the entire evening.
The food was exceptional – my elk steak was perfectly prepared with a beautiful sear and tender interior, while my partner’s halibut was flaky, moist, and beautifully seasoned. Both dishes showcased the kitchen’s skill with quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation.
The atmosphere captures vintage Charleston charm perfectly – intimate, warm, and inn-like without feeling stuffy. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and savor the experience.
Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff clearly takes pride in creating special moments for guests.
Southbound is now our new go-to for celebrations. Can’t wait to return!

We stopped here on a chilly weeknight for Happy hour at the upstairs bar. Had 1/2 price signature cocktails and the wagyu beef hamburgers. Perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. This is a beautiful restaurant with well thought out dining spaces both indoors and outside on the porch and patio area. Looking forward to returning in warmer when we can sit outdoors.

This place didn’t disappoint. The tuna tartare app and porkchop was delicious. I will say that i ordered the tiramisu dessert and wasnt really one. More like a chocolate mouse but great regardless. Housed in a colonial home w/ chefs cooking out in the open always adds a nice touch.

The atmosphere was top notch. We sat outside on the patio and it was the best patio yet! Just beautiful! The fact that’s in an old house is also another selling feature! The service was top notch, and even had a purse holder. The food was just ok- for the price. It was good, looked beautiful but husk to me is better on food.

Overpriced to say the least. This was their 34 ounce bone in ribeye for $170, you be the judge. You’d think you would get an accompanied sauce like béarnaise or bordelaise with that but it’s just the steak. We did have the seared Foie Gras and the Tiramisu dessert which were both good. Four people at dinner and we both split the steak with our girlfriends and the bill was over well over $700 with tip.

We had a wonderful evening at Southbound. We were fortunate enough to sit at the Chef’s table and watch these 3 gentlemen work their magic. From the appetizers to the main course and then ended with dessert. Everything was delicious and these guys were complete pro’s.
